This was an interesting stop. Our guide went into much detail about the Catholic history and how the Abbey fit in. One interesting fact is the relics. One sees what looks like skeletons in displays. The exposed parts are real but then the covered parts...More

We stopped in Engelhartzell on our river cruise. We had been traveling for about a week and this was a perfect little town to relax. We found the church by accident and were enchanted by the beautiful park-like surroundings. The church is absolutely beautiful, but...More

Stunningly beautiful Cathederal with amazing art work. Worth the visit, however, please remember that this is a place of worship and treat it as such. While visiting had loud, obnoxious people ruining the ambiance and not respectful of those paying a pilgrimage. Little gift shop...More

Our river cruise ship had to dock here due to a Danube low water schedule change. We had time to wander the town & visit the church. Worth a visit if you are in the area.

We visited this abbey recently while docked on a river cruise. The Abby was very nice and beautiful. I would definitely recommend visiting if you happen to be in the area.

Steps away from our riverboat cruise. One of the most stunning interiors for a village church. Worth the stop. We were also invited to a private home, lovely people.

The Abbey and grounds are definitely worth a visit and if you are on a river cruise and they make a stop here, it is very enjoyable. The church is impressive on its own, but you'll also get a surprise as you have the opportunity...More
