Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I really used to like this place. Now everything is way too expensive for the experience. The food is way overpriced for the quality and they charge for everything. I paid $92 dollars just to use the Palapa(picnic area) without a view to the beach and paid for food on top of that. Won't go back. Save your money.

The place is ok. It pretty much delivers on the photos you have seen. Service on the other hand is not good at all. I tried contacting the place by their contact us section on the website, Instagram DM, Twitter DM and email two weeks before arriving with no response. I had to call via a land line to finally get an answer.
When we got there we saw attention is focused 100% on day pass guests and not on the hotel guests.
Rooms: Rooms are worn down. The shower drain is kind of clogged so water will rise st your feet. Paint would be greatly appreciated on walls, doors, bathrooms, etc. The access to the second building (rooms that star with 2) is like an agricultural warehouse. You feel you will walk into machinery or livestock pens but it's the rooms. Walking out of that place is not that clear wither: reaching the pool, the restaurant, etc. You take paths that don't look like a path to a pool or to the restaurant. You doubt if it will take you to staff only premises like the kitchen or something.
Housekeeping. Daily housekeeping is advertised. There was no one to be seen on Saturday. Room was never cleaned that day.
The pool. If you are sitting around the pool no waiter will come to see if you want a drink. There will be four of them just sitting down watching a soccer game but none will come. You have to get up and get the drinks for yourself. On the other hand you do see lots of waiters going to the kiosks where the day pass guests are.
The restaurant. Prices are OK. There are two restaurants which in some cases offer the same things with different prices (like beverages) which is weird. Food was delicious. It seems it's two different businesses on the same premises as the looks of the restaurant are way different than the rooms but the kitchen where food is cooked is the same in the hotel.
In summary, the place is sitting on a beautiful cliff. Salt water pools are very nice. Hotel services are NOT up to the privileged location they have. Too bad.

I booked this hotel months in advance looking forward to a nice beach stay. I arrived July 9 in the evening around 7pm. Checked in and as soon as I received my rooms I saw the place was filthy. Just gross. The room didn’t looked clean at all. There is no excuse. I don’t have to go into detail. The pictures show everything. The second room smelled wet and putrid. Who would trust such a resort!. Dirty bedding, bugs everywhere. I left immediately. Ended up in the city an hour away at the Barcelo which I’ve stayed at before. Had to pay double the price. No beach but a clean lovely hotel. Travelocity refunded my hotel stay thankfully. This resort is trash. I don’t see how this can be the first time they do this. Ruined my plans for sure. I’m sure their pools are untreated, they can’t even clean their rooms. The staff looked nonchalant about it, no surprised at all when I pointed at everything. Beware and look at pictures please. Horrible experience!. They don’t deserve not even 1 Star!.

The hotel is fine, the room is comfortable, clean is not luxurious, the people of the place are friendly and diligent.
The view is amazing and the pool and other location is very good, if seen with your family it will be a good place to enjoy.

I arrived 9am, no available rooms so I have to wait till 3pm
The place is beautiful, big garden with 2 restaurants and a pool in the middle. Down to the beach they have big ocean water pools, really nice. El Palmarcito Beach is at one side. Service is what mede me question the qualification. Some people is great, others has no service feeling at all. When I arrived, they told me I can use the facilities, well a guy told me I couldn't be at the PelÃcanos deck as it was not opened, once I told him I would be staying at the hotel, he let me. One other guy asked to see my key because he didn't trust of the room I told him, that's not customer centric.

Such a shame this beautiful spot is in such a bad condition.
Staff should be replaced by enthousiastic employees. I have never met worse staff than at Atami.
The room was outdated. And why did they turn the matrass?
Pool was way too warm and not refreshing.
The things we liked:
Location felt safe.
The hammocks.
The shower.

Just being here and seeing the magnificent views of the cliffs, the ocean waves crashing on the cliffs and rocks, the black sand and the many spots to relax is enough to rejuvenate and fuel up a weary body.. the three pools right by the ocean were invigorating and exciting as the waves crash upon you. The food here is excellent as well. I had a salad and my friends had the chicken, steak and fish dinners. Nice peaceful spot.

Placed on the cliff at the ocean coast gives wonderful conditions to rest out of the city. Nice and clean rooms, a few swimming pools and two beautiful beaches on the sides create an oasis quite close to San Salvador. Very good breakfasts and excellent food in the restaurant. Great for families and groups of people travelling together. Close to the capital and airport.

This is a nice beach resort close to El Tunco and La Libertad. Rooms are small with shared bathroom, but clean with A/C. Nice view from the restaurant, two pools in the main area plus three salt water pools by the beach. Close to shopping, but still secluded.
