Barnes village and High Street is a lovely family orientated shopping and cafe culture place that is a pleasure to stroll along or stop for shopping or food. Really nice

Lovely little spot - the shops are the sort that you wander round and look in. Cute duck pond! And the Thames is close enough nearby too.

I like Barnes Village but it is, alas, modern rather than quaint - the High Street closest to the Thames has three nail shops, two hair shops, three charity shops and perhaps half a dozen estate agents - you would not find most of these...More

Barnes village has two main shopping streets and many pubs and is a very upmarket area within easy reach of central London, around 6 miles away. The River Thames hugs the village and more in to the village is a nice duck pond. Parking on...More

A sweet afternoon's walk in a quieter English village. A nice high street of local and known brands, green with ducks and cosy cafes. A deliberate trip for Rick Stein's Barnes restaurant, though can imagine the area is calm and relaxing for a short stay.

With shops, restaurants, cafes, 5 pubs and a beautiful cinema, Barnes consists of 3 shopping streets. White Hart Lane runs from the White Hart Inn on The Thames near Barnes Bridge up to and beyond the Railway level crossing with an interesting and unusual array...More

A very pretty village not far from central London with a great cinema, cafes and shops and of course the famous duck pond in the middle that makes Barnes so picturesque.

Cosy bend in the river; duck pond; Sonny's; regular farmer's market; home to Henry Fielding at 18 Church Road; river dominated by 1849 railway bridge; Barnes Bridge and Barnes station; no dual carriageway road in sight; home to Kurt Schwitters, Freddie Mercury and Frank Thornton...More

Not much has changed along Barnes High Street but either end is pleasant. At one end is Barnes Pond and the Sun Inn, whilst at the other end is the towpath fronting the River Thames. After that, Barnes is really just housing, albeit some properties...More

The title of this review is not mine, but Time Out and innumerable 'where to live in London' Guides. Barnes is very much a village. It is bounded by the river, Barnes Common and Richmond Park. It is not en route to anywhere and accordingly...More
