My daughter and I loved it, very informative guide. Once we had done the guided tour of the mill the Museum came to life as we understood what we were looking at.

I took my 18 year old daughter to the museum as she is studying Art and is interested in textiles, so I thought it would be a good place to visit. My satnav had me in a few strange places, so make sure yours it upto date before you go! We initially parked right outside the museum on a side... More

The Sal's Gals walking group had a fantastic day out in Macclesfield, starting with tea and coffee at the Silk Museum then a guided tour of Paradise Mill. We were made very welcome and Mike our guide was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a fascinating tour. It really is a gem and should be on the curriculum of all schools... More

We didn't have time to get into the Paradise Mill - we spent more time than expected in the Silk Museum. Fabulous friendly people in one of the most interesting places I've ever visited. Watch the two videos if you have time, if only time for one then the 24 minute one is a fascinating history of silk production. The... More

Enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide. Well worth a visit. Reasonably priced. Would be better to go when it is quiet.

We visited the Silk Museum on a Tuesday in January, when we arrived after lunch we found that the guided tour had just ended, however, the chap offered to show us part of the Paradise Mill which was first class. The Receptionist in the Museum was so helpful even brining us chocolates while we watched the video. I subsequently contacted... More

This museum is a nice little place for a insight of what used to be in Macclesfield. With some working show pieces. Plenty of info for the kids and adults to read. Although it is a little small and prices little steep for what is offered!
