This site is on the road from Stirling to Crianlarich. It's a stunning drive and well worth the trip. The whole area is Rob Roy McGregor territory. If you've done a bit of research the whole site will be a lot more meaningful. Like many...More

Personally I could have done without this visit. It is in pretty country. But it was a heavy rain when we visited and really....it was just an outdoor grave that is contested whether he is buried there or not.

Though off the beaten path, once you arrive at this old gravesite you will be glad to get out and walk around. It's very serene and peaceful. There are many grave stones that date back centuries and will give a glimpse as to what it...More

Not much as visitor attractions go but worth seeing if interested in Scottish history. Situated in a churchyard two miles off the A84 in Balquidder. Well signposted from the main road and easy to find although the access road is narrow and twisty. Watch out...More

When viewing the grave, you stand in an old graveyard adjacent to the ruins of one stone church and the aging structure of another. It's a short drive down a one-lane road, so be prepared to stop and back up if you need to, so...More

This was our second visit to this place. It's very peaceful and beautiful. If you walk beyond the grave, the ruined old church and the new one, you come across a busy burn with lots of tumbling water. Just standing and watching that is enough...More

A journey up a little lane takes you to this peaceful churchyard, where the grave of Rob Roy and his wife and Sons can be found. It is a beautiful unspoilt place, worth the time if you enjoy a tranquil site.

The odd inscription on Rob Roy's grave says "McGregor Despite Them" and refers to a time when to be called McGregor meant that you could be arrested as an undesirable, or even hanged, because you belonged to a clan, the members of which were regarded...More

I am a descendant of Rob Roy MacGregor and so this place holds a special place in my heart. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. There are no words to describe sitting next to the grave of your ancestor. The parish church is a must see.

We stopped here on our way from Stirling to Oban - it's a short detour off the highway. A beautiful peaceful spot - the sun was out and we enjoyed a picnic on the benches.
