    Beautiful loch
Really lovely loch, amazing views of the hills behind. Lovely little mall there and the sea life centre. Easy to find and lots of parking. Definitely worth a visit.

    The Glory Of Nature
What to say about Loch Lomond? How long have you got? Stand and stare, it's breathtaking, awe-inspiring, pick your cliche. No matter how long you stay, it wont be long enough. Sometimes nature in all it's finery is all you need to make your day. Loch Lomond is just such one of those places. Walk as much as you can, listen out for the tell-tale sounds of wildlife, or just as impressively the deafening sound of utter silence, a blanket that envelopes you. The views over the loch are quite simply stunning, a glorious haven of tranquility. Luss is worth a cursory visit just because it's a lovely little town and if you're there, you have to pass through, just because you can. Park by the Loch, put on your walking boots, pick up your picnic and stay, enjoy, live, breathe in the clean air and leave with a smile on your face. Beautiful.

    Beautiful nature
This place is absolutely amazing full of natural beauty a gorgeous lock summed up the best of Scotland I was so glad I came here. They the wonderful coffee house stroke restaurant called the Duck Bay just close by good parking there are many sides to the loch from which different different things can be seen. It must be absolutely gorgeous on a summer's day but we visited during some mild rain.

Beautiful stop over to strech our legs.
Great stop over to see the Loch. My husband's family were known to live in this part of Scotland. unfortunately, the An Ceann Mor was fenced off and looked in disrepair. It is a great walk in the woods and we appreciated getting out to the car to stretch our legs. Be mindful of ticks however, we did find one on us.

Get out on the water! Take a tour, rent a power or peddle boat.
If you're driving on your own, stop at the Loch Lomand Shores to see the shops and attractions, but don't spend the day there. Carry on to better views and more traditional outings. At Luss, a delightful village where real people actually live, you can stroll old-world streets and shop in quirky stores and have a tea and scone or full lunch, then on to Tarbert, where you can jump on a tour boat and traverse the lake in style.

    Day trip kayaking
Me and my partner went kayaking on loch lomond recently and thankfully got the weather for it. Went out to wallaby island and had a picnic. Was truly amazing. Ensure u wear life jackets and wrap up warm because the temperatures can change quickly.

    You take the high road...
In the late 1950s at school, I learned ballads from foreign countries: Australia’s “Waltzing Matilda” and Scotland’s “The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond.” I didn’t know what a metaphor was then. “O ye’ll tak' the high road, and I’ll tak' the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye…” On a guided tour of Scotland, the wonderful guide revealed the dark nature of high and low road. According to the guide and subsequent research, two captured Scots warriors in the 1700s were given a choice. They had to chose which would be hanged [death, the low road] and life, the high road. The low road—death—instantaneously transported the soul to “Where me and my true love will never meet again by the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.” To take off the numbing chill of those words, the tour guide produced a bottle of fine Scottish whisky—without an “e”, which is used for Irish whiskey. We then took a boat ride along those bonnie, bonnie shores in Lomond Chieftain, where I craved a larger dose of Loch Lomond whisky, to stave off the chill from clouds and a cold October mist. Loch Lomond is the largest freshwater loch in all of Great Britain, not just Scotland. And I learned that there is only one lake in Scotland. Any other interior body of water is called a loch.

    Absolutely Stunning
Having the opportunity to paddle board on here was beautiful. The sun was setting, the water was calm with a slight breeze and the surrounding scenes were stunning. I will continue to have this area in my memory. My partner and cousin were wild camping nearby so I visited and couldn't resist getting on the water.

    Pretty beautiful
We loved visiting here on our trip to Scotland. We went for a little boat trip on the water and visited a waterfall, and also a beach in Luss. Gorgeous scenery, lots to do and nowhere was dreadfully busy.

my wife and i visited loch lomond in sept 2021.
a beautiful place. there was boat trips on the loch, but we did,nt do these.
you could also hire canoes and various crafts to go on loch yourself.
there were a few shops nearby and a cafe. there were also some other attractions but most were closed.
what i would point out though is you actually get a better view of the lock if you go to luss village, which is only a few miles up the road. you can also get a boat trip from there.
overall very pleasant.

Absolute Beautiful area, but oh my goodness I have never seen so much rubbish dumped in beauty spots. We visited Milarrochy a popular visitor place & it is like visiting a rubbish tip. I can't believe humans can be so dirty. Disposable to BBQs, cardboard boxes & tissues paper everywhere. It is disgusting!!! They need to at least put bins in car park & empty them on a daily basis, unfortunately this does not happen. Also small inlet where tents & sleeping bags abandoned & piles of rubbish. We spent an hour cleaning the beach of rubbish & lots of glass. We took bags for our rubbish & took it home with us. Why can't everyone do that.
The national park need to look into this, charge in car parks & use the money to employ country wardens & fine people for dumping litter.

5point Review:
My first picnic spot in Scotland and man, I loved the place.
1. Thumbs up: We drove from galsgow and drove all around the lake. Scenery is absolutely breathtaking. We got down at Tarbet pier, (that place also has stunning views, nice spots to lie around and have a good picnuc) to take a cruise. (Loch Lomond Cruise) Cruise was okay, but exploring the scenery from the middle of the lake was good. The guide/captain did a good commentary although most of it was lost in the noise. During return we stopped at Luss village. Nice beautiful beach, a diving spot to jump in the cold water and watersports. The speed boat ride was much more fun than the cruise.
2. Thumbs down : If you are a tourist and self driving then God bless you. This lake is huge and google will lead you in middle of nowhere .Hey google, do you hear that? Atleast update your maps to lead us to some beach or pier. To find any activity or beach you have to type speific spots (Tarbet, Luss etc.) It was hard locating places for watersports. We visited 3 spots and finally found one in luss that was just about closing. And no jet skis for rent? Seriously?? There were tens of people doing jetski but they were all private. I was gutted at not being able to get a jet ski in this paradise. Loch Lomond watersports people are you listening??
3. Wow factor : If chilling (I mean literally chilling by swimming in the crystal clear but cold water of this lake) in the lap of nature, (with additional options of some watersports, boating etc) and soothing your soul with some paradisical scenery is your things then this is the place. Just wow
4. Money Matters : Cruise was 12 pounds per pax. Speed boat 100 pounds for 10 pax. You choose whether you like it fast or slow. We tried both and enjoyed both. And yeah the beach, scenery, lake all come for free. Humans charge us for services Nature doesnt😊
5. 5point Experience : I have already described in detail my whole awe of this place.
My Rating : Go and chill. See nature at its full glory

This is a difficult one.
I have been here some 20 years ago.
Today a lot of the shores are saturated with golf-boat-camping-whatever Ressorts.
Resulting in no access for the public.
While the Loch still has its beauty which is worth visiting the (expansive) tourist wave has covered at least the first third of the shores.
AVOID the typical places and everything that can be easily found in guides and the internet.
The east of the Loch might be the better choice.

Runrig did not live in vain. Thanks to them, we, as tourists, were familiar with this place and name. That's why we had to come out here, of course. We did not regret it. The surroundings out here are just completely unique. And perhaps also what Scotland is best known for, at least in Denmark. Here you can easily spend a whole day sailing around, climbing in the countryside or eating an ice cream.

The largest lake in Scotland (and Great Britain) and one of the deepest; its shape vaguely resembles that of our Lake Garda, obviously on a smaller scale, since Garda is at least 5 times larger. What differentiates it from Garda is the presence of many islets, which in the widest part form an archipelago of 12 (but if you also consider those that are little more than a rock, the number increases considerably, however, variable number according to the level, also variable, of the lake waters). Among the green hills that surround it occasionally open small beaches (the lake is bathing); the only real town that overlooks it (on the southern shore) is Balloch; the others are tiny holiday villages, of which the most important is probably Luss (on the western shore, at the point where the lake begins to narrow). The main villages are touched by the boats of some shipping companies that make mini cruises on the lake. Recent from a geological point of view, but still a protagonist in Scottish history; very popular with domestic tourists for lake holidays (canoe or boat tours, swimming, cycling, bird watching, trekking on its shores and highest peaks, including Ben Lomond), personally, as a foreign vacationer making his first trip to Scotland, I did not find it particularly attractive, preferring other scenarios I have seen in this country; it must be said, however, that the time available on this trip was not much, so the visit was necessarily superficial (we touched Luss and Balloch and took a small cruise on the lake).

We stayed near Loch Lomond and took several trips to see it. You can drive around most of the Loch. Remember the song "on the bonnie bonnie banks of Loch Lomond"? On the south end of the loch is Loch Lomond Shores. You can shop and eat there.
