Really lovely loch, amazing views of the hills behind. Lovely little mall there and the sea life centre. Easy to find and lots of parking. Definitely worth a visit.

What to say about Loch Lomond? How long have you got? Stand and stare, it's breathtaking, awe-inspiring, pick your cliche. No matter how long you stay, it wont be long enough. Sometimes nature in all it's finery is all you need to make your day. Loch Lomond is just such one of those places. Walk as much as you can, listen out for the tell-tale sounds of wildlife, or just as impressively the deafening sound of utter silence, a blanket that envelopes you. The views over the loch are quite simply stunning, a glorious haven of tranquility. Luss is worth a cursory visit just because it's a lovely little town and if you're there, you have to pass through, just because you can. Park by the Loch, put on your walking boots, pick up your picnic and stay, enjoy, live, breathe in the clean air and leave with a smile on your face. Beautiful.

This place is absolutely amazing full of natural beauty a gorgeous lock summed up the best of Scotland I was so glad I came here. They the wonderful coffee house stroke restaurant called the Duck Bay just close by good parking there are many sides to the loch from which different different things can be seen. It must be absolutely gorgeous on a summer's day but we visited during some mild rain.

Great stop over to see the Loch. My husband's family were known to live in this part of Scotland. unfortunately, the An Ceann Mor was fenced off and looked in disrepair. It is a great walk in the woods and we appreciated getting out to the car to stretch our legs. Be mindful of ticks however, we did find one on us.

If you're driving on your own, stop at the Loch Lomand Shores to see the shops and attractions, but don't spend the day there. Carry on to better views and more traditional outings. At Luss, a delightful village where real people actually live, you can stroll old-world streets and shop in quirky stores and have a tea and scone or full lunch, then on to Tarbert, where you can jump on a tour boat and traverse the lake in style.

Me and my partner went kayaking on loch lomond recently and thankfully got the weather for it. Went out to wallaby island and had a picnic. Was truly amazing. Ensure u wear life jackets and wrap up warm because the temperatures can change quickly.

In the late 1950s at school, I learned ballads from foreign countries: Australia’s “Waltzing Matilda” and Scotland’s “The Bonnie Banks o’ Loch Lomond.” I didn’t know what a metaphor was then. “O ye’ll tak' the high road, and I’ll tak' the low road, And I’ll be in Scotland afore ye…” On a guided tour of Scotland, the wonderful guide revealed the dark nature of high and low road. According to the guide and subsequent research, two captured Scots warriors in the 1700s were given a choice. They had to chose which would be hanged [death, the low road] and life, the high road. The low road—death—instantaneously transported the soul to “Where me and my true love will never meet again by the bonnie, bonnie banks of Loch Lomond.” To take off the numbing chill of those words, the tour guide produced a bottle of fine Scottish whisky—without an “e”, which is used for Irish whiskey. We then took a boat ride along those bonnie, bonnie shores in Lomond Chieftain, where I craved a larger dose of Loch Lomond whisky, to stave off the chill from clouds and a cold October mist. Loch Lomond is the largest freshwater loch in all of Great Britain, not just Scotland. And I learned that there is only one lake in Scotland. Any other interior body of water is called a loch.

Having the opportunity to paddle board on here was beautiful. The sun was setting, the water was calm with a slight breeze and the surrounding scenes were stunning. I will continue to have this area in my memory. My partner and cousin were wild camping nearby so I visited and couldn't resist getting on the water.

We loved visiting here on our trip to Scotland. We went for a little boat trip on the water and visited a waterfall, and also a beach in Luss. Gorgeous scenery, lots to do and nowhere was dreadfully busy.
