Lord street should be the grand boulevard of Southport, regrettably there are now a number of empty shops and numerous charity stores. Having said that it is still a lovely street to walk along and people watch.

Years ago people came to walk down this beautiful street full of attractive and fashionable shops. I realise times have changed but the council shouldn't have let it slip like this - lots of empty shops, charity shops, tons of very samey bars and eateries...More

There’s a very traditional seaside feel to the canopies and types of shops along Lord Street; cafés, pubs, sweet shops, ice cream; however there did seem to be a few more closed on the last visit, which is a shame.

As per other reviews, parts of Southport are now looking very tired.Money is tight no doubt with the local council but more effort should be put into enforcing responsibilities onto private landlords. Walking down Lord Street there are far too many empty shops with broken windows...More
