I was with my 2 sisters when we saw Verity looking out to sea. She is a very striking statue of a powerful woman. Brilliant. I liked the anatomical side too.

Certainly something a little different here. Worth the visit to see the ugly old statue and worth climbing up to the church in the hill nearby if you are visiting the area.

I was in awe of this amazing statue. Very interesting and very cleverly done. Really pleased that I went to the harbour to see it.

We love seeing Verity she’s like something out of Jason and the Argonauts. Protecting Ilfracombe harbour from foe.

An installation by local artist Damien Hurst, larger than you think. Lots of information boards explaining the concept and how it was built etc Great work of art, but we found the subject matter rather strange, needs to be fully sean to understand.

I love this statue. Verity is meant to represent Justice (hence the scales and books she stands on and the sword in her hand). Yes, she is pregnant, one side of her is the outer skin view and the other side shows details of her...More
