We visited on a slightly overcast day, but I felt that the admission price for a family of five was excellent for just under £10 including our dog. We were told on entry that a Wedding was taking place, which meant we could not access...More

We visited tunnels beach on a sunny day, the tide was just coming in when we first arrived so we stayed for an hour, got our wrists stamped on the way out so we could go back in again. When we went back the tide...More

Beautiful secluded little gem! It inst a sandy beach, but there is something special about this hidden away spot. Went in July obviously the water in England is quite cold but the kids still waded around a bit in the water. Very neat place to...More

It was a wet day when we went, so there was no chance we would be staying long. Interesting copies of local news stories from the 1800's on the walls.

Fascinating location steeped in history. Attended mid week but was still fairly busy. After paying £2.50 each for entry, the helpful member of staff gave us a briefing regarding the tidal times etc. No issues with space on the beach, which along with the walkways,...More

Well worth a visit for peace and quiet, pack a picnic and go for the day. An interesting bit of history but hard to believe Ilfracombe is just outside, you can't see it, hear it or smell it.

The tunnel contains pictures and stories of the Victorian tidal swimming pool. On emerging at the beach, you are able to witness the first tidal swimming pool. The location is near the town centre, so easy to find. You can even venture in the pool...More

My rating is based purely upon our experience, i think there is much more potential to the tunnels beaches. We went late afternoon on a Sunday. There was a wedding on so the ladies beach was closed: first disappointment (but clearly advertised as a strong...More

The beaches themselves aren't the greatest but that's not really the point of this place which is steeped in historical significance and interest with the overall atmoshere coupled with the many signs, information boards, newspaper reports and features taking the visitor on a nostalgic journey...More

Why not try the Dilkhusa Grand hotel, 2 minutes walk from the Tunnels Beaches. There was a wedding taking place on the Gentleman's Beach (left hand beach) while we were there last week. We caught a glimpse of the guests... More
