Recently refurbished Whitley Bay frontage is lovely to have a great walk along. The Links (the grassy area before the beach) divides the road from the beach and you can walk along nearly the length of the bay. The beach is clean and is well...More

We are not local to this area but we like to visit when we can. We were impressed on our recent visit with the improvements made. They couldn't improve on what was already a lovely beach but the rest now compliments it even more. Every...More

A great area for a bracing walk even in November and with blue skies and the sun shining it was really pleasant on the beaches and lower promenade out of the breeze. The whole area is clean and clear of litter.

The Links is how I remember a lot of seaside towns used to be like in my childhood. A fabulous walk by the sea with lots of grass and the promenade a pleasure to walk along. A bracing walk with fresh fish and chips. What...More

So many British seaside towns have decayed and make visiting a miserable affair. Not so here. The Links looked spotless and well manicured. The sun helped, but Whitley Bay seems to be on the up at last. And that's worth a cheer.
