Great to see the re-opening of this old pub. Small and compact bar which adds to the atmosphere of the place. Very attentive bar staff who are friendly and welcoming.

Went there today and it was just great! Very friendly and the family who run it are brilliant! Beer was ace, and the landlord even showed me his cellar You can't fault this pub. If you do you get a life!.... Billydinglefoot.

The new landlord has ruined this pub. No longer full of friendly locals, most of them shun the pub now. Tragedy,it's no longer the home of the Ventnor Comic Jazz Band because he doesn't want them! The Volunteer was their 'office'. No longer a pub...More
