St Mary's is both an iconic building with great historical connections and more importantly, a vibrant place of worship. Wonderfully restored and more improvements are promised.

I came to see 'Breaking the Rules' at St Mary's Church, which formed part of the Lammermuir Festival. The volunteers and staff couldn't do enough for you, and the event as a whole was just fantastic.

What a wonderful setting for an autumn Fair. Taking church into the community and community into the church building. Clearly a huge amount of work by probably a small percentage of the congregation but well worth the effort. Beautiful building and a warm welcome which can be had each Sunday. Thank you to all who made this such an enjoyable... More

This church will always mean something to me as my parents got married here in 1980. The church is a peaceful place with lovely architecture. I have attended many events here before including a... The church is beautiful and well worth a visit. What was fascinating was the fact that one of the locals has painstakingly, over a period of 15 years, put together an archive of every gravestone in the cemetery. This is over 1300 gravestones. He has deciphered the inscription on every gravestone. Where there is missing information he has been able... More

I was very much in two minds as to whether or not I should wait 20 minutes to be able to access the church, but I am glad I did. The banks of the River Tyne nearby proved to be the ideal waiting area on that sunny, August day. Built of local, red sandstone, the building with its massive, square tower,... More
