I don't know what to say about it. It is there on an intersection and actually near some antique shops and Camphill Community Organic foods, where nice food is available to sit in or take home.

Holywood town is worth a visit, lots of coffee shops, eateries and charity shops but if you come simply for the maypole you may be disappointed to find it is just a pole in the middle of the road.

The maypole really isn't much until May Day when it is transformed. A great attraction for May Day celebrations.

Was in Belfast for May weekend so paid Holywood a visit for the Maypole. Small town but a great atmosphere, loads to see, lovely stalls in the town centre, entertainment for the kids, maypole dancing, everyone very friendly.

My father & I popped into the Maypole during a quick visit to Holywood recently. We were impressed by the hospitality shown by the landlord & regulars & wished we could have stayed longer in this very welcoming pub.

Unless you are visiting Holywood on May Day or some other local festival all you will see is a large pole at the crossroads in the centre of town, so nothing of note really!

Not much more to say - except drivers need to be wary of its position in the middle of the road. I've never been there on May Day so I suppose I'm missing out.

We were looking for a typical Irish Pub and we found it! It's like a time warp back to the 50's or 60's, maybe earlier We are told it's traditional and we were not disappointed offering hospitality second to none. Service with a smile and...More
