I had spoken with Rob on Saturday so knew what to expect when we rocked up late morning Monday. I hired two sea going canoes for my son and myself for two hours. Rob provided wet suits, buoyancy vest and a quick familiarisation suited to our needs. The wind was easterly 10 mph so very safe but sporting too. We... More

It was our very first go in a kayak, we were given some tuition and all the equipment needed for our trip into the unknown , we had a blast £10 for an hour , brilliant value , we will be sure to come back and do this again real soon as we live locally .

I regularly hire a single kayak for £10 per hour from Rob, lifeguard and beach sports manager. Always service with a smile. He ensures that I wear an appropriate buoyancy aid & takes the kayak down to the waters edge for me. This is a gently shelving beach so very safe. Sometimes I take a leisurely paddle around the bay... More

You can hire different types of sea vessel for a very fair price. The guy who works there seems to have dedicated his life to customer service and happiness. Even locals hire, rather than buy and hump a canoe there. He takes vessel to waters edge and tells you to leave it there for him to collect, brilliant!!!!!!

I visited Broadsands beach last week of June, first week of July and found it to be charming. Excellent views, clean and full of facilities and amenities. The gentleman who runs Broadsands Kayaks was professional, friendly and helpful. We hired beach chairs etc. and he provided excellent service.(Sadly, i cannot say the same for the council fellow who appeared at... More

We'd been to 4 other locations in Torbay in the hunt for kayak rentals. They were all either not open, had stopped renting or were waiting til JULY. Finally found Rob at Broadsands kayak. And thank goodness. Impressed with his customer service. He offered to look after our valuables and gave us a waterproof watch so we wouldn't be worried... More

Ever keen to try new things, we spotted the kayak hire here when we visited the beach early Sunday morning. Not prepared to do it at the time (plus it started raining!) husband asked the Lifeguard whether it was suitable for all ages, including kids, and being reassured it was, we decided to return today. As two adults and two... More
