Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was our very first visit to Mission Beach on Monday 02/10/23 travelling from Cairns. The views from the beach were amazing & arriving around 9:30am the beach area wasn't very busy with tourists & locals.
Unfortunately we didn't have much time due to catching up with friends living a few KM away, we hope to return to mission beach sometime in the near future.

Sandy South Mission Beach is attractive for travelers spending time in this beautiful tropical area. The beach is quite calm, it's about a kilometer or more to the township of Mission Beach. The beach is connected to the township by Ulysses Link Walking Track, it's a good walk. The South Mission Beach begins near the Eco Village and Shelly Beach.

This review is about the beach itself, not about any accommodations or other businesses. I loved the beach. Amazing for a morning walk before and after sunrise which is the most beautiful I have seen. I woke up early every morning just for this. Quite a few people doing the same thing and a few joggers.
There is a small patrolled area with stinger nets. This is also lovely and well kept and the lifeguards working there are nice and they’ll answer any safety questions you might have. I went for a swim there a few times and it was really nice.
The beach is lovely overall but choose the accommodation carefully.

I’ve been on 100s of beaches, but this beach is too dangerous and too putrid to walk on. There are dogs off-leash on every section of Mission Beach. I was walking along minding my own business one day and an Alsatian ran 50 metres down the beach to attack me. As well, dogs are readily allowed to chase the native shorebirds, there is garbage washed up all along the beach, and mass numbers of coconut trees with coconuts regularly falling down onto walking paths. There can also be marine stingers and crocodiles in the water. Cafés and restaurants are expensive, and it hardly stops raining. Just pass it by.

Lovely Beach but during our stay, it was too hot during the day and full of jellyfish. No phone reception (Vodafone) and full of mossies the entire time. Alot of the nicer restaurants are closed during the week and the other places were not air conditioned and unfortunately it was a steady 43 degrees each day. We went, we saw (what was open HaHa) and we conquered. Wouldnt really rush back though.

Terrible park by all accounts. The bigger cabins are nice but forget it if you are a couple or single wanting to stay in a cabin as they are only fit for knocking down. If you're into injecting hard drugs and need a place to hole up for a while this is the perfect place for you.Such a shame that this establishment has gone this way when Mission beach needs all the help it can get from tourist dollars. Trust me there are better places to spend it than Bali Hai caravan park.

The main are of mission beach looks so run down. Shops are closed. The ones that were open struggling to serve food….. running out of ingredients. The arcade area is a gravel pit. Just Hereford the day. Innisfail has a lot more on offer

Over priced accommodation. Stayed in a cabin in a caravan park. 33% dearer than Tully Heads. Food costly bring your own. OK place to visit but not stay for any lenght of time.

Avoid this place like a Chinese wet market. Seriously shameful state of affairs when a beautiful town like Mission beach has a caravan park run like this. Please don't spend your money here. Look elsewhere.
