What a quaint traditional indoor market, lots of variety over the stalls, good amount of toy stalls of kids & more adult collector items. Didn’t visit the cafe but it smelt good and was busy.

So many traders under one roof. The variety is amazing from baby clothes to Turkish lamps! Friendly traders who guide you to each other’s stalls and they give great recommendations for places to eat in the City. It’s open six days a week from 9am...More

We quite often pop to the market for bits and pieces usually spices and coffee beans from the stalls there. A great little market and full of different stalls that are reasonably priced.

There’s loads to see in here. Fresh fish, food, tobacco shop, sweets anything you want guitars comics. Some lovely takeaway food, cheese butter. But the wife loves the crabmeat, it’s the first stall she goes to, usually gets some fresh fish too. Well worth a look

The last indoor market we’d visited was the impressive one in Halifax. That building was steeped in history and full of all manners of stalls. We found Durham’s just as appealing if not on a smaller scale. Chatting to a baby clothes stall holder who’s...More

...looked full of tat from a quick look around. I was in Leeds' Kirkgate Market the other week and this one is much inferior.

This is a lovely market with fantastic fish, game, cheese and bread stall. Was struck by the friendliness of the stall holders. Great stall selling Turkish lamps and other things. Great for birthday gifts with a difference. Lovely to see a thriving market that isn't...More

I made several visits back in 2015 so late review. Half hidden entrance from main square so almost missed it. Inside it was clean and looked to have been updated in recent years. It is just on the acceptable side of what a traditional indoor...More
