A very pleasant couple of hours can be spent here. They serve teas and apart from the wonderful gardens, there is one of the best views of the Cathedral as a bonus.

Finding this place isn't easy - signposting from Durham is not excellent whether on foot or in a car. It is worth the effort to find it! The house is lovely but the gardens excel it! We didn't have anything to do with catered events...More

Just up the road from our accommodation. We took a walk and came across this little gem. The coffee was top notch, pot of tea was reported as good and the cakes (lemon tart and brownie) were excellent. Top service!

We attended a friend's wedding here and the setting was fabulous. Lovely gardens and we had the most wonderful afternoon tea for the wedding breakfast. The Hall is a very old building. Definitely worth a visit.

First visit to Durham. And recommendation to try Crook hall and gardens. Beautiful Victorian garden afternoon tea served in the big room, very bright. Afternoon tea was a lovert treat washed down with a glass of prosecco. Will be back.

According to their website there is nothing on that week. Not sure about buses but it's all central Durham so it's walkable...
