Unfortunately the Heritage Centre was permanently closed in March 2016 which seems like a bit of a shame because it sounds like quite the cute museum. The building still remains (it is called Queen Anne's Walk) and as it is a Grade I listed building...More

what a pity that this lovely spot has closed it is right in the middle of the town and was a wonderful little find with a gift shop and wonderful tours.......what a silly thing to do......with the tourist season coming up what are they thinking

As we entered people came out of the exhibition complaining that there was little to see and it wasn't worth the money, consequently we did not go into the exhibition. (we'd just visited the museum which is free!) Outside the heritage centre is sunken area...More

Exhibition is ok but a bit amateurish. Expensive considering what is there. The people on the desk seemed to have no knowledge of their town's history, and I was directed to go to the near by museum if I wanted to know anything. Bizarre. Shop...More
