We took our 7 year old grandson here on a rainy holiday day. He was most fascinated by the skeleton, and interested in the write up about it. We enjoyed looking round the other exhibits and displays, and then went upstairs to do some Easter...More

A small museum with lots of history of the town, and its free as well. The staff were very friendly and helpful and must love their job as they were volunteers.Lovely little cafe there as well.

Great place to explore and learn new things at. There’s a little tea shop at the end also. Staff are all volunteers so are very passionate too.

A very interesting museum for adults and children, with some ‘hands on’ for youngsters. Not a large place but packed full of interesting exhibits. Clean toilet facilities, small shop. Well worth a visit, free entry!

Loved the military display as an old soldier myself. A real ‘old style’ museum with stiffed birds etc. Good facilities with toilets and a cafe. Good central location too.

I did not see any dogs in there. I can't imagine that they generally would, unless they are hearing dogs or seeing dogs (I'm sorry there is a phrase for those types of dogs but I can't recall it )
