I walk my dog here a number of times each week Its ideal for all weathers, some areas are open, and some woodland. It's a great place to explore, just be careful as one of the car parks closes at dusk

Had a lovely walk and you can see for miles. Will go down the mines next time for extra experience. The little shop was Lovely and the museum was interesting.

Fantastic place to walk the dogs or take the family for picnic. Loads to explore. Beautiful on a sunny day, equally beautiful in the snow. Variety of paths, some more difficult than others. Also has parking/toilets/cafe/museum/train at the visitors centre.
