Very good stopping place for a cup of tea, when on the Rodwell Trail. Relaxing gardens looking out to the Isle of Portland

Tucked away on the outskirts of Weymouth, Sandsfoot Castle, or what remains of it, has a brooding romance which is slowly slipping away into the sea . Look down from the castle to the shore below and you can see the remains of that part...More

Such lovely gardens, again by the sea. Here stands a little castle built by Henri VIII for quiet and peach. Lovely . A pleasant stop on our way to visit the area.

We popped along today to view the ruins. Even though a cloudy windy day, the view was superb. We imagine in the summer sitting in amongst the gardens that are in front of the ruins, would be very restful.

We walked round these ruins on our walk to Portland. There is a walkway inside the castle, but there is not a lot to see now. There are good interpretation boards giving an idea of what the castle would have been like when it was...More

We discovered this whilst walking the Rodwell Trail (a gentle 2-mile stroll along an old railway track leading from Weymouth). Beautiful gardens and fantastic views from the recently stored castle, originally built for Henry VIII. Nice tea room, but the is only a single toilet...More
