Great cakes!

Lovely food and service. Staff very friendly. Perhaps a little hard to find if you do not know the area but sign at end of the road.

The coffee, tea and cakes were excellent and the staff were helpful. Maybe too much written on the board, but it's all on the menu as well. Haven't been in for a while, but I used to like this place for soup, though it can sometimes seem slightly overpriced on the meal side. On this visit we just wanted a... More

Enjoyed the Seafood platter and the Parma ham & rocket panini yesterday lunchtime, followed by coffee and a slice of indulgence (pecan pie and coffee cake). Staff were friendly and attentive, adding to the relaxed atmosphere that makes the Black Faced Sheep worth a visit.

This is a great little place to visit for coffee/tea and not least cake! The cake in particular is well worth driving for...if you are out and about in Aberdeenshire. The owners understand the value of great home bake - and the fact that there are people out there who know what good baking means. This is also why people... More

Stopped for coffee and cake on the way to a long walk up Glen Tanar. Food and service as good as always and recommend the ginger cake.

This has long been a most popular coffee shop both for locals & visitors to Aboyne & Royal Deeside. My husband (together with my brother in law and his wife) having been travelling stopped in Aboyne. Having stopped for a break we decided that as it was nearing to a refreshment break (about 12.30) we called into this establishment. A warm welcome greeted us upon opening the door. The cleanliness of the entire premises was to a high standard... More

It has street parking available and nearby is ample parking in the square. I been here a few times, and it was always well patronised. Somehow I had the feeling from the menu and what we had to eat and drink, that it tried to aim too high for what it offered and could not meet its ambitions. Coffees were... More

I have been to the Black Sheep a few times and have never been disappointed. We called in today after cycling from Ballater and enjoyed a delightful lunch with friendly service - very tasty and filling and I was thankful that we had to cycle back to justify the cake I probably did not need (but thoroughly enjoyed!)
