This pub is a must visit when in Beverley. It really is like stepping back in time. From the gas lighting to the general ambiance it reeks of atmosphere. We visited on a very busy Friday night. The people were friendly and eager to engage in conversation. Excellent beers on offer along with fantastic service.

The pub as a whole is great, lovely gas lamps and fires create a fantastic traditional atmosphere, drinks are cheap but glasses sometimes could be cleaner, and have previously witnessed some members of staff being rude to some customers, but would recommend, definitely to be visited if you've never experienced it!

The interiors don't look to have changed much in the last 150 years! Gas lamps, shadowy corners, warped furniture, ramshackle collections of trinkets and old glass bottles...There is a new extension which looks totally out of place, and the toilets look brand new, so they have clearly tried to maintain the olde worlde look on purpose. Nice cheap pint of... More

This is a traditional, old pub. Flagstone floor, gas lamps, no food, music, cash only. Not great for wine or other drinks but excellent for ambience. It is dark, perhaps not clean, with many rooms and areas to sit in. We loved the experience for a drink but I'm sure its not for everyone. It is certainly not a modern... More

Visited the White Horse Inn on the 27th Dec,after reading some of the positive reviews.Don,t know what the fuss is about!! Very disappointed. Dark, dinghy & dirty. There's a lot of old pubs with character that are friendly & welcoming, this one is just old, dour & miserable.Don't bother!!

Many times we have visited The White Horse (nellies) we came across this little gem of a pub. Still lit by gas in all rooms, except bar lighting and emergency exits. It's what I call a proper pub. No music. No food. No gaming machines, No bad language. just a pub. Everyone I have found to be very friendly and... More

Appalling choice of wine and dirty smelly toilets let this place down. If you want a lads night out it is fine but if you want anything else give it a miss.

A friend recommended "Nelly's" as the locals refer to this place. Incredible pint of Sam Smith's Sovereign. Lovely atmosphere in a place which is appreciated by people who enjoy a great pint in an incredibly traditional and unspoilt pub. Brilliant place
