Always our local when in Beverley. Old, dingy, lit by gas but great for a real ale. Low prices, roaring fire what more could you want. If you like modern or gastro pubs this is not for you!!

This pub is amazing. It's just like stepping back in time. Definitely worth a visit. We went on a cold day, the fires were roaring and the atmosphere was brilliant. We loved it.

A proper pub that attracts a variety of customers many of whom are characters. Great choice of drinks at very attractive prices served by a cheery barmaid (can you use that term nowadays?) Check their web site, run by an enthusiast, for more details.

Lovely old pub , fab coal fires , drinks decently priced, no food served here but I think it might spoil it if they did start doing food .

Nellies as it's known locally has to be one of the best pubs in Great Britain. Gas lights, stone floors, open fires and good Sam Smiths beer. Doesn't do food (except crisps and pork scratchings), no loud so called music, just a fantastic atmosphere and the sound of people chatting. An old fashioned proper pub, just the way pubs should... Go back in time to a victorian gem. Gas lights, open coal fires rooms and snugs that crave your indulgence. A hostelry for those who desire to experience a time warp and enjoy a relaxed pint in a dream of a building.

unspoilt, from the land that time forgot, with the price of a pint to match and rambling rooms full of charm and the lingering hue of centuries of chatter and of ale and of the generations that have grown up here and have grown old and have talked and shared and laughed and cried and smiled. i love this place...

Popped into this beautiful, quaint little boozer as this was our first visit to Beverley and I must say Nellies as it's known locally, kind of made me very nostalgic and happy and what a warm welcoming feeling. It felt like all past and present spookily made you feel quite at ore with the place. I would really love to... More
