My husband threw me a 'curve ball' he wanted to stay on a Light House for his 60th Birthday! I decided to surprise him and booked to go to Lundy. As it was February we travelled from Hartland via Helicopter, it was fantastic. We stayed at the Old Light Lower which was clean and functional. If you visit in winter... More

Many thanks for your review from which I was delighted that you had enjoyed your stay on Lundy and our Lighthouse. Travelling to Lundy during the winter by Helicopter is a unique experience and I'm pleased that you enjoyed that too. The Island changes from Season to Season and a visit in the Spring or Summer is not to be... More

It was our 12th visit to this magical Island. We were over for my 40th Birthday as a group of 21 people. The helicopter flight was well organised, the staff on the island all friendly, and nothing was too much bother. The amazing chef made me a fab Bakewell tart cake! So much to see and explore, the views are... More

Lundy is everything it is said to be and more. Highlight for us were the sea lions (animal lover) they come to stare at you :) HOWEVER, be warned about the start of your journey if you go via boat... there is a VERY steep climb from the dock to the top. To keep up with the group it is... More

The campsite is in a sheltered field close to the pub and shop .The showers and loos are clean and well maintained .We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time .We wandered all over the island and spent a happy hour or two sat outside the Tavern .The children made friends and played on the pitch outside .There... Spent a few days at Stoneycroft on Lundy which was just magical. We walked, explored, searched for letterboxes, saw Puffins and Seals, ate and drank at the pub and enjoyed island life atmosphere. The boat trip out was dreadful but the trip back was much calmer. Apparently best place to sit is on deck infront of the doors down to... More

Really pretty island, puffins are cool. It's a lovely place to go but the boat is dreadful and its so expensive. Not great value for money to be honest, but nice as a one off.

Many thanks for your feedback, I'm really pleased you enjoyed the Island and seeing our Puffins during the summer, when they are here. I'm sorry if your thought that the ferry was expensive though, however, the price of the crossing is kept to a minimum to cover the operating cost of the ship only and at £36 for a full... More

I needed a weekend away from everything and wanted a dark sky place. Lundy seemed a good choice. Thanks to all that had posted previous reviews so I knew what to expect. The helicopter flight from Hartland was 'interesting' (it reversed off the mainland due to the wind direction). Overall the departure was well organised and no issues (they will... More

Went to Lundy on a day trip, the weather was very good so we enjoyed the walk and had a excellent meal at the Marisco Tavern, the only pub on the island. A word of warning the walk up from the dock is quite strenuous, but worth it. Will definitely be going back

I may not be the person to write a review for this truly wonderful place. My grandparents once owned the Marisco Tavern. It was a piece of history, it was beautiful. Now it's a shell of the original, gutted in order to get more people in and make more money At what cost? At the cost of losing the magic... More

I was sorry to hear that the changes made to the Marisco in the 1970's are not to your liking, however, all of the original features and artifacts from earlier era's remain for visitors to enjoy today. The tavern was extended in the 70's after Lundy's future was uncertain and the Landmark Trust undertook to manage the Island, restoring and... More
