Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Love to fish here but lo and behold… another negative encounter with paddle boarders. Quietly fishing a tiny beach only just wide enough for me and 2 rods when 2 paddle boarder ladies chose to park up, set up and attempt to launch right on top of me and even ask me to reel in to accommodate them… when I suggested they have a massive loch and several car parks and to go elsewhere, they didn’t like it one bit so continued to launch further up and noisily flap about right over the top of my lines. Where is the simple respect for folk who have to pay to do our activities. I respect other people so would never dream of setting up where people are camping, swimming or boarding. ‘Wild swimmers’ are as bad because it’s happened a couple of times on different venues. Just a little bit of common sense and courtesy goes a long way.

Just perfect on such a sunny day to stop at one of the many free car parks and sit a while. Lovely cafe available nearer Callander or bring a picnic before heading off to Kendrick Hill.

Went to this restaurant with friends. The food was great. Space is at a premium so pre-booking advised. We found ourselves back there with different friends the following day and just as enjoyable. The view across the loch is stunning. The staff are friendly and welcoming.

Perfect for the outward bound person or family. Walking cycling running. It is also a managed camping area.

Its a nice loch, although not as dramatic or scenic as some you can visit in Scotland.

There's some places to pull over in the car for free.

Beautiful Loch. Not that large but very picturesque. A few car parks on the side, and quite popular with visitors and campers.

Eat at Venachar Lochside nearby!

Five people for a celebratory Sunday lunch, celebrating our first anniversary! ... Wow! food was incredible as expected, sitting in the comfort of the LV Cafe, overlooking the loch on a dreich Sunday afternoon was atmospheric and quite mesmerizing as the rain fell upon the loch ... don't miss out on visiting this very special place and sampling their exquisite menu!
