We called in and met a volunteer and the owner , the buildings and collections are well worth visiting and stopped for a couple of hours looking at the social history of this former railway and surrounding area, Thank you.

What a lovely and charming little museum this is. It's situated right in the centre of Coleford in the main car park (which is ridiculously cheap) so access is easy. The £4 entry fee for adults is good value as you are able to wander...More

For a soggy afternoon in the forest, an excellent place to visit.Informative and friendly staff and hundreds of interesting and historical exhibits gathered from the local area and further afield. Good value for money.

We visited today with our two young grandchildren who had a wonderful time. The staff were very knowledgeable but also geared their talk so our four year old would understand. They loved the miniature train ride.

We have had such an interesting afternoon, extremely informative and knowledgeable staff/owners who are rightly proud of their museum. Definitely worth a visit, I’m sure we’ll go again!

The museum is open every Friday and Saturday afternoon from 2.30pm till 5 or 5.30pm or by special arrangement for other days of the week
