Stopped off here for an afternoon walk after visiting Goddrich Castle. Plenty of parking with reasonable charges. Maps and waymarked walks of varying distance and difficult. We went on a leisurely stroll up to the viewpoint, which had breathtaking views of the River Wye and...More

A walk along the river running through Symonds Yat is one of the most relaxing and calming experience. After a couple of hours walking the dogs and watching them swim in the river we were ready to enjoy a relaxing coffee at the Royal Lodge....More

Had a great few hours there. The weather was a little cloudy so the views were limited, nevertheless it is stunning views across the valley and beyond. Plenty of parking and £2 - £4 all day for the £4 is ok. The café is beautiful...More

Stayed in the area in my touring caravan. Visited Symonds's Yat on a glorious summer day. Lovely tranquil spot, with gorgeous scenery and a boat ride on the picturesque river. Nice pub, restaurant and hotels on banks of the river. Well worth a visit.

Lovely place to visit, great views over the valley. There were a number of RSPB volunteers there explaining about the birds and habitats, they even had binoculars set up so you could get closer views of the nests on the rock face.

As we were in Coleford we decided to stop at Symonds Yat Rock. Glad we did as the views were breathtaking and free :) as the only charge was for the carpark which at £2 for two hours was very reasonable. Plenty of other paths...More

A steep woodland walk from the Saracens Head but also easy access from the top car park. Well worth a visit with spectacular views over the River Wye. Sadly didn’t see any birds of prey but apparently many do.

Symonds Yat Rock -to be reached via signs to Symonds Yat East (as opposed to West) in the first instance until signs for the Rock, gives a wonderful cliff/hill top vista of a 180 degree bend in the Wye and stunning rural panorama beyond. Plenty...More
