This is marvellously preserved house is a snapshot of very strange Anglo-Irish history the story of which is told wonderfully by the magnificent Keith. Without visitors, this house will not survive. Go, enjoy it for yourself and by doing so, preserve it for generations to...More

Lovely house and grounds. Also nice tea/coffee house. Very interesting. Only complaint was that it was difficult to hear guide at times. Walks are OK but not that interesting. House is the main interest.

This is a must see, it doesn't open until 2; but know that the tours of the actual house occur at certain times and fill up fast. The house is amazing as well as the grounds. There is also a small cafe and gift shop

Visited Castlecoole on Saturday as part of a group of 10 ladies. We all really enjoyed the experience. Started off with lovely coffee and scones in the sun, quick visit to the shop and then up to the house. Our tour guide, Lizzie, was lovely...More

It's old and takes you back in time. Reminds you of the great building skills had even back then without technology. It amazes me still... I love the grounds it's built on and it's great for taking long walks.

We visited this property first thing before we headed for pastures new. The grounds open an hour earlier than the house and the house is by guided tour only. We waited well over 15 minutes after the supposed opening time for someone to turn up...More

We have visited a few times and it is always a bit different. The staff are very devoted and the decor is fantastic. The grounds are beautful too.

Such a lovely place to visit. Beautiful grounds, beautiful house and well worth the admission price. Stop for a cuppa and cake well worth it. Call into the book shop and have a lovely chat with the lady who looks after it..... such a joy.

Visited Castle Coole this weekend. A rather imposing looking building sitting in acres of parkland and woods. No formal gardens which was a bit disappointing but the tour of the house more than made up for it. We were on the last tour of the...More

May visit in the summer. Got two x 2 yr olds will us. Can you get a push chair around the lough Coole ?

Response from Ryan B | Reviewed this property |
Yes there's a solid path the whole way round the lake it will be no problem with a push chair. Certain areas of the forest walk towards the old icehouse may be more difficult but should still be ok.
