Visited the book shop with my teenage daughter and we both came away with additional reading material, the shop has a mix of new and 2nd hand / vintage books and are well priced. The owner has the knowledge to assist you but is not...More

Had a great conversation about the Winston Graham set of twelve Poldark novels with the very well informed assistant here. I came away with a couple. It's a treasure trove of local books as well as offering a very fair selection of other works. Many...More

This is a real oasis away from the hustle and bustle of Fowey despite being right in the heart of the town. It's stocked with a brilliant range of books, yes biased towards Cornwall and Cornish authors but surely that's welcome & kind of the...More

I loved second hand bookshops and so popped in to browse leaving hubby outside. The proprietor was chatting to someone, I didn't really listen but I got the impression it was local gossip. I perused the shelves looking for my favourite - cookbooks. I couldn't...More

Bookends of Fowey encapsulates all that is unique and valuable about independent bookshops; knowledgeable owners who are passionate about books and can give recommendations, a specialist range of stock rather than generic bestsellers. Local interests are a speciality; Daphne du Maurier of course but also...More

A great place to pop into when you're in Fowey. They have a good selection of out of print books on numerous subjects. I was particularly interested in their selection of books on local smuggling and piracy. Lovely staff too. Highly recommended.

So glad you enjoyed our shop, we try to have as much about Cornwall, Smuggling and Cornish authors.

The stock is weighted towards local interest which is great if, like me, you like your holiday reading to reflect where you are. I'd never read du Maurier and after a helpful conversation the bookseller and I settled on 'My Cousin Rachel' which I'm enjoying....More

Local books - good if you have forgotten to bring something to read. Local fiction and guides. Good to spend an idle half an hour browsing and much more fun than the tourist shops around it.

This is a lovely book shop. Lovely selection for most tastes and a great price on art supplies which was a pleasant surprise.
