Really enjoyed this visit, the building is fantastic & it has spectacular views of the Tyne bridges & quayside. The Rodney Graham exhibit was fun too; make sure you watch the info video which explains his technique & philosophy. Oh & make sure you visit the kittiwakes 😉

In my opinion the best thing about this place is the view! The view of the Tyne Bridge, Millennium Bridge and Quayside is excellent. There is a nice coffee shop downstairs and it is nice to sit outside in the summer. I do find the contemporary art rather unusual and confusing at times, and I do believe the building could... More

Just happened to go into the Baltic Flour Mill, not knowing what to expect. However, it is a lovely building with glass elevators, a shop, a cafe, and of course the modern art displays. I am not an art expert, and am a bit of a novice when it comes to Modern Art, but it was certainly an eye opener,... More

A must visit venue if you are in the area. Even if you are arty be prepared for the Emperor's new clothes syndrome. Some good, some thought-provoking, some dismal!

When I visited here in March, most of the art exhibits were being replaced so there was very little art etc to view. The exhibits should not be removed all at the same time. The views from the top floor over Newcastle and the Rive Tyne are stunning. Worth a visit to see the views. One point for that! The... More

Large art gallery next to the Millenium Bridge that is worth visiting if you're in Newcastle. There are viewing platforms on the 4th and 5th floors with good views of the quayside.

If you are in Newcastle-upon-Tyne it is well worth it walking down the quayside, over the bridge to The Baltic, which you can see from a far distance, it is a large building. The exhibits are free and there is a good variety on at the moment. The Rodney Graham work is over two floors and is quite enjoyable if... More

Brought my family over the Millennium Bridge to the south bank to see what this place was all about and although it's a cool building with a decent cafe I'm absolutely not sure about the art exhibits... maybe I'm an art Phillistine but none of it seemed to make sense to me! And explaining it to a 7 and a... More

This is a building housing modern art, but so little variety that it doesn't deserve to be open. I suspect the taxpayer is being bled dry to keep this going. It needs much better curation. If they are short of funds, then why not give local art students a permanent space to air their best alongside more established artists? I'd... More
