Overview
More
Nestled in the leafy area of Upper Washer Lane The Wainhouse Tavern is an impressive building steeped in history. It was once the home of John Wainhouse the architect and owner of Wainhouse Tower. This stunning building is now the home of a free of tie pub offering 5 real ales, locally brewed as well as a great wine list. The business is family owned and well maintained. Regular events include quiz night every Tuesday and games night on Thursdays.

Great food freshly prepared and served by friendly staff. My vegetarian cottage pie was the best ever and my partner's roast pork was wonderful. We shall certainly return.

Cozy comfortable pub. Quality choice of cask ales too. Too much choice on the food menu (my only criticism). Lamb & rosemary pie was full of succulent tasty lamb in a delicious gravy accompanied by home made chips and garden peas. Yum! Great value quality...More

I love this pub! I love the food... just wish there was more staff. I waited quite a while to be served Friday tea time. I’ve been on a Sunday and felt the same too. Lovely proper pub

Nice friendly atmosphere, feeling like a nice local now. Selection of real ales, lager, cider and guinness is spot on. Eaten there several times over the last few months and never been disappointed. Excellent home cooked food, good deals too.
