Gauntlet, Eagle & Vulture park is the largest bird of prey park in the Northwest of England. With over 120 birds of prey, ranging from the smallest owls to the worlds largest eagle and Vultures it really is a haven for animal lovers. Gauntlet has two daily shows at 12.30 and 3 during the months March-Oct and during the winter months weekends only. As well as our two daily displays we have vulture feeding and meet & greet. We have a large children's play area with plenty of room for picnics. We are on the same site as Fryers garden centre and you can leave at anytime and come back for our displays. For those wishing to get closer we have bird of prey experiences which are run 7 days a week throughout the year. This gives people the opportunity to handle and fly the birds.

My husband bought me a half day experience as a birthday present and he came along as a spectator. We both had the most amazing time! Beth led our session and I got to be so hands on with the birds - we held owls and a kestrel, a vulture, saw a display of some of the more unusual birds... More

After living in the area and passing this place many times we decided to visit with our daughter. It was brilliant. Great fun. Great bird of prey shows. Very dedicated and knowledgable staff. Beautiful display of birds of prey. Play area. Even some characteristic goats you can feed. Meet and great with the animals also. Although it's only a small... More

Lovely day visit and experience with my dad today, we had an hour experience with Joe the handler, he was fantastic, he was new at the centre but had lots of knowledge on the birds. We got to handle and fly around 4 birds and went on a walk with a hawk, after our experience we fed the goats and... More

Went here for the half day experience as a birthday gift. Joe and Michelle were fantastic. It was a brilliant day and the birds you get to interact with are fantastic. You get to feed the owls, vultures, eagles etc. That is an amazing experience. I would recommend this for any age.

My partner and I visited in March not knowing what to expect and we were not disappointed. We handled a whole range of birds including: eagles, vultures and owls. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they are passionate about the upkeep and conservation of the animals, most importantly the vultures. The most spectacular part of the day... We had a brilliant time today doing the hawk and owl experience. It was really in depth and way more varied than we expected. Doing this experience you're properly up close with and handling the various birds. It's something you should do at least once. Brilliant.

Wow. What a display and we only seen the 12:30 display. Apparently the later display is even better. Reasonable entry price and you can come and go all day. The birds are great, staff friendly and very knowledgeable. You can get very close to birds during display. Owls, Vultures and a Bald Eagle clipped me during the show. Educational for... More

Visited Gauntlet Birds of Prey today with my partner, two friends and their baby girl and we were all enthralled! So many beautiful creatures to see including owls, vultures, eagles and even meerkats! The meet & greet session was both informative and a lot of fun, the keepers really knew their stuff and you could tell they were really passionate... More

We did the bird of prey experience, it was my Christmas present,it was absolutely fantastic. What is so inspiring is the passion the owner and staff have( Shelly took our bird experience )for the birds. It is a true love affair. The bird experience allows you to hold owls and Hawks and fly them. You get to know the personality... More
