Its a bit run down and needs more cash thrown at it, not to make it flashy and commercial, but to make it in keeping with the time and position of the location. If this were aboard it would be more interesting as they tend to bring other related things to the area and a history. Come on Lowestoft get... More

Nice stop at this point. I read bad reviews about it, but I like it. Its nice short break. You can see how far you are from London or Paris or other different city's around the world. Recommended!

Watch the boats and the waves and the Euroscope on the floor so you know how far away you are from different city's around the world.

This is a most disappointing attraction, even if you can call it so. It's a trip down Gas Works Road past some old rusty Gas Ometers to a concrete sea wall. And then only if it's not high tide you can see a round disc on the rocks below. We could see nothing to say this was the most easterly... More

A short brisk walk from the bascule swing-bridge to Ness Point reflects the diversity, culture, and history of Lowestoft. The harbour precedes the past once lively fish market. Whereas the adjacent wind-turbine depicts its future industry. Ness Point is the most easterly point in England. The group of rugged rocks jut out into the vast expanse of the North Sea.... More

Surprised to find the most eastern point in England behind many factories, difficult to find, a concrete place next to the sea, really gloomy, not attractive at all, good to have been there, but this needs serious upgrading to make it an attractive visit.

Easy to access and park & interesting due to mileage displayed to other European cities. Warm clothing advised as was blustery.

I visited Ness point on a recent cycle ride along the coast. It is easy access from the Lowestoft end, via Gasworks Lane. The other access is a mile north and down steep hill. interesting ride, though do it on a calm day as otherwise you could get soaked from the spray as it runs as a sea wall.

Unlike the other Cardinal Point sites (Lands End, Lizard and Dunnet Head/John O'Groats) this Easterly extremity is modest to the point of No Publicity status. Set at the end of the delightful Gasworks Road surrounded by an industrial estate there is minimal signage and no fuss. Parking is available for a few cars and the free site comprises only a... Lowestoft probably isn't the most exotic of places one could imagine, so it would not be in keeping with the character of the place to have some gimicky set-up, selling fridge magnets. However, the stone circle showing distances to select destinations IS something that you don't get at any of the other furthest N,S,E,W points in Britain. There is little... More
