The high entrance fee rather coloured my experience of the gardens, I have to say. For that amount I was expecting something rather more. The lunch was nice enough, though the green salad could benefit from more variety in the leaves, the tomatos were delicious

We visited the day after Storm Doris, but the sun came out for us, and thankfully she hadn't damaged this beautiful place too much. Although it is Winter, there is still plenty to see - the woodland areas are full of snowdrops, irises crocuses and hellebores. Staff in garden centre, gardens and café all friendly and helpful. Recommend getting the... More

I took my mother (who was a Geoff Hamilton fan in the 90's) who was very impressed with the 38 ideas. I was interested in a few as a non-gardener so not a bad visit. Entry is £7 with a little cafe to grab a drink at the end. I wouldn't recommend visiting in the winter - keep to the... More

We visited on a cold, wet January day and had a wonderful time ! Those who remember Geoff Hamilton hosting Gardeners World will be enthralled to recognise many of the small 'gardens ' used in the programme. Geoff's family have retained many of the special areas he loved and each is notated with useful information and helpful hints. These are changed... More

We knew there wouldn't be much happening in early February but we still enjoyed our visit. The gardens are set out with helpful information boards and there is plenty to see and give you ideas for planting. Well worth a visit

Found Barnsdale by accident but so glad we did. The gardens were fascinating even though it was winter and very cold on the day we visited. The coffee and cake in the tea room is also to be recommended

Although of interest to many others, this really is a garden for gardeners and all the better for it. It has been kept in the style that Geoff H would have wanted and as well as offering a huge amount of interest has an excellent cafe.

we visited as a surprise outing for my mum, on arrival we had a lovely pot of tea in the cafe, then went into the gardens which were exactly as we saw them on the gardeners world programme if a bit smaller in real life (amazing how a camera can make a small space look much larger). we saw all the...
