We were in the area on 2nd January and decided to call in. It was a cold and wet day, but the 4 of us were still charged the £6 entrance. Due to the weather we spent 20 mins at most in the gardens, then...More

We had been promising ourselves a visit to the gardens for years so on our wedding anniversary with the weather set fair we drove over to Barnsdale. We were not disappointed. The gardens were as we remembered them from the days of Geoff Hamilton presenting...More

We visited the restaurant at the gardens whilst staying locally. Had a very nice light lunch. The staff were very attentive. We did not go around the garden area as it was very cold that day.

We were on our way to a short break and stopped here as my wife wanted to see the gardens. There are a lot of different type of gardens to see and walk around. We also had lunch at the café, which was reasonably priced.

We came here expecting so much but were a bit disappointed. However, it is winter so we weren’t expecting the gardens to be in full bloom. Prices seem a bit steep- £7 for adult, £6 concession. We spent less than an hour looking round the...More

We were very lucky to have had a group visit and to be given the tour by Neil, son of Geoff Hamilton. Gardens great even in November. Lots of things to see and came away with new ideas for our own gardens.

Really enjoy visiting and looking round all the different gardens made famous by Geoff Hamilton on his TV programmes. Now run by his son. Better when its good weather though.

Not being dog owners we hadn't taken notice of the arrangements for dogs. It appears that they can't be taken into the garden, but there's a small shaded parking area close to the entrance where they can be left in cars.

I would say a couple of hours :-) Plus a visit to the tea room - afternoon tea is amazing.
