We hired a guide because we wanted to focus on the American Army's St. Mihiel offensive. We got that and more. Jon, the guide, was knowledgable and we saw stuff we never would have seen if we were on a "bus tour" or on our own. Really good.

Organised a two day private tour with this company. Jo Gumm of 'In The Footsteps' arranged the tour and Jon, our tour guide in France, was with us on both days. We were picked up at 09:00 and dropped of after 17:30 each day from our hotel in Amiens. Jon is a registered battlefield tour guide. Jon had done some... More

We went on a family tour with Ian Gumm as our guide who was absolutely excellent. We had our elderly parents with us and he tailored the tour to suit them very thoughtfully and kindly. It was also extremely interesting as we were following the route my father had taken in the 2nd WW and Ian brilliantly found the right... More

Ian Gumm was an outstanding guide taking 7 family members to Holland and Germany. Ian's detailed research and excellent navigation skills took us to the start line of Operation Veritables in February 1945 and followed the line of my Father's battle finishing at the exact Barn where my father was wounded. We could not have experienced a more emotional or... More

My wife & I have just returned from a short visit to the WW1 battlefields near Arras to visit my Uncle's grave on the 100th anniversary of his death in April 1917. Jo arranged the tour for us with a local guide, Carl, who was excellent - so knowledgable. We could not have reached most of the places he took... More

A terrific day. Jo was incredibly responsive to my last-minute emailed request for a bespoke tour of the Somme region. She found me a wonderful expert in Tim...I had very little time in the area, and Tim was able to fill up my day with as many sites as possible. At the very start of the tour he asked what... More

John Anderson was a phenomenal resource. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 days with him. He has a huge knowledge base and is able to eloquently pass this on to his clients.

It's taken me a while to write this review, but that's no way a reflection on my experience. After visiting my Great Grandfathers grave in 2010 with my father, we made a promise that we would return 100 years to the day he died. As he died in January, the prospect of driving abroad in winter became a bit daunting... More

We just completed a tour of Oosterbeek and Arnhem having read a book titled "A street in Arnhem" about the battle of Arnhem and specifically the bravery and resolve of the British troops, German troops and Dutch civilians who all got caught up in this monumental failure of a military operation. Wybo, our guide, did an amazing job of bringing... More

Our tour was fantastic, both of us had a understanding of what happened at Arnhem during the war but our guide was able to build on that knowledge and really bring the battle to life for us. It was incredibly enjoyable but a very sobering experience. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Arnhem!
