Autumn Walk
Nov. 2021 • Couples
Absolutely loved our visit yesterday, very beautiful and autumnal, so many stunning trees, good signage on walks, cafe was busy but very good coffee. Would definitely recommend a visit here.

Move aside, New England
Nov. 2021 • Couples
We went along to see if the trees looked as beautiful in their autumn colours as they seem to in photos. And they do! A variety of walks took us past the autumnal shades. Even a mini forest bathing experience occurred. Who needs New England in the autumn when you have Sheffield Park garden?

Out of this world autumn colours
Oct. 2021
We recently visited this National Trust Property and had one of our best visits this year. However, big mistake we went in the recent schools holiday and with the overflow park car closed it took over an hour to get parked up, also whilst the venue was crowded it did not spoil our day, the garden and grounds were very well maintained and the colours were magnificent especially those reflected in the lakes.
The shop and tea rooms were both clean and tidy and certainly worth a visit.

So much to see, best autumn colours!
Nov. 2021 • Solo
Great autumn colours as described. Beautiful setting for a long walk. Lots of paved footpaths. Muddy in the woods and off the main path but still so much to see without this. Huge selection of shrubs and trees. Shop and toilets available. I didn't use the cafe. Very busy when I visited so a wait for parking, even though we booked.... But it didn't ruin my experience. I would visit again.

Could be better.
Nov. 2021
We went Friday 5th. We booked for 10.00 car park quiet straight in. The colours are truly amazing. We had a lovely walk around just a few very muddy patches. By 11.30 we decided to to leave noticed how busy it was getting having to keep walking around people lots wanting to stop take photos got to car park and it was heaving cars were by now parking across the field n an overflow car park and cars at this point being stopped down the road from coming up and being directed so quite a tail back. We didn’t go to the cafe dread to think what they were like for people as they are letting far too many people in even with the booking system dread to think what it’s like afternoons and weekends.

Shambolic!
Nov. 2021
What is the point of having a booking system if you turn people away not once but twice on arrival because the site is full and can't cope with more visitors? We ended up parking a mile away and walking there. Hardly the welcome we were expecting especially as we are members of the NT. If you can't cope with the numbers, surely the answers is to reduce the number of bookings per day unless of course you want to alienate your members. Not sure we'll be renewing our annual subscription.

Beautiful Autumnal Colours
Nov. 2021
I read the reviews before we went and they were most accurate. We could smell the toilets before we found them and the £2.25 filter coffee from the refreshment's hut was tasteless - best bring your own drinks and sit on the many seats around the venue - however, not many of these are situated near the beautiful vistas.
Most of the paths are sound, but we found it boggy in places and the woodland area would not be useable to wheelchairs or buggies. Paths are not completely flat and so I would suggest wheelchair users transfer to one of the mobility wheelchairs available - ie, thicker wheels to absorb the bumps.
We went on 1 November and had a booked slot. It was busy - the car park was almost full at 10.30am. The trees are the star of the show and we had beautiful blue skies too. It took us an hour to walk the paths and admire the views.

Inconsiderate
Nov. 2021 • Couples
We are an elderly couple who have been life long members and donators to the National Trust. BUT it has changed and not for the better.
Last week we tried to visit Sheffield Park at a weekend, only to be told on the phone that we have to book at weekends, but during the week we didn’t need to book anymore (we appreciated difficulties during Covid) but today, a weekday, we drove quite a distance to get there, only to be turned away on the drive As we hadn’t booked in advance. INFURIATING. The man on the gate suggested elsewhere to go, but we have a dog, one reason why we like going to Sheffield Park, and very few National Trust permit people with dogs anywhere near their grounds - except of course the cafes where we spend money.
You have advised, and that certainly seems to be carrying through, that one-off visitors are more highly valued than members. Are you trying to get rid of members and responsible dog owners?
We are VERY DISAPPOINTED

Disappointing
Oct. 2021
On the positive side, at this time of year there it's perfect for autumn colours.
The plant nursery is very reasonable, the staff are all very polite and helpful.
Unfortunately the park was over busy far too may people, children and dogs.
We booked but it was packed.
The toilets were really smelly and poorly kept on both occasions, whilst I appreciate the amount of people but you could smell them outside.
The " hut" café team were just really concentrating on how quick they could serve, they really had no idea of allergy requirements and please get rid of the plastic .bottles of water just provide filling stations.
All the rubbish was put together may some recycling bins would have been useful.
