Looks such an impressive building with the gates that should have been at Buckingham palace. Unfortunately when Queen Victoria saw the gates a Statue of Oliver Cromwell was behind them. So she didn't want them

Warrington Town Hall lies very close to the shops Golden Square, just away from Palmyra Square and all the local hostelries. Yet it is a place that is often ignored, if not forgotten. It's a shame, because as a building, gardens and location, it is pretty awe inspiring. Who doesn't like a big flag after all?! The Golden Gates may... More

Stay by the gates and you just might be taken in! The gates need reprinting and the town hall is inaccessible!

This listed building is really splendid. I have only ever seen it from the outside, but I believe the interior is equally grand. Set in beautifully kept grounds, with a pair of quite spectacular wrought iron gates to the front.

What a beautiful building. It's sat back and kept behind stunning gates. Lovely to photograph. It was a dull afternoon but that didn't matter. Grand, majestic and stunning. Worth a visit

An elegant building, standing back from the bustle of the town centre in grounds that are currently being revamped. The gates are one of the icons of the town and are worth a look. We were lucky to get a tour from one of the wardens so we got a bit of history which was fascinating. (Not sure if they... More

Warrington Town Hall is a very imposing building Standing back off the roadway and did, up until recently, stand in its own substantial gardens., however, some of these have now been given over to other projects such as a brand new bowling green and pavilion (nearing completion July 2015) and some more offices. For a long time, the Town Hall... More

This is a stunning venue in the heart of Warrington, I have visited over the years for several reasons but recently at a business function and I found it as good inside as it looks outside. An American friend once likened the building to a poor mans White House and although I hadn't the heart to tell her it's actually... More
