The house is very interesting, and the volunteers very friendly and knowledgeable. Downside - it was raining heavily. Bob is waiting for a knee replacement, and walks with a stick. The car park is around 300 yards from the house, but they did not tell us there was a cart to take guests to the house. Also, the refreshments did... More

This was our second visit to Upton - the last time the house was presented with a WW2 theme ; this time the idea is that you might be a prospective buyer in years gone by and so some of the rooms prompt you to think about your purchase. Personally, I can do without these gimmicks but you cannot fault... More

We visited on a Sunday and rubbed shoulders with Porsche GB who had a large meet here. The consequence was a swarm of people moving around the house making study of its artefacts virtually impossible . I know the Trust needs money to assist in the renovation work but they should not lose sight of the below average visitor experience... More

We went to Upton Hall with some friends. It is a National Trust establishment. We had an interesting introduction from one of the guides in the entrance hallway and were then left free to visit the rest of the house. The guides, as always in National Trust properties, were knowledgable and helpful and able to answer any questions. The gardens... More

Upton is a lovely house and full of interesting history. The gardens are also wonderful and a pleasure to walk around, whilst looking at the beautiful flowers. There's also a little potting shed in the garden which you can take recipes on a sheet of paper home with you. If you want to buy a gift or enjoy a coffee... More

We were in Banbury and had heard the gardens at Upton House were worth a visit so decided to have a look. What a disappointment. The mirror pool is undergoing renovation which was fine. The terraced borders were full of weeds and looked like they hadn't been tended for years. The kitchen garden was closed . We had a sandwich... More

The themes inside Upton House vary from year to year. The latest theme is that when you visit you are a potential buyer of the house but this does not work. The conducted tours are OK but when you visit without a tour they insist on telling you the same information again before you are allowed to view the house.... More

We are National Trust members and as Upton House is fairly close we often visit. It usually has some theme running. For the last year it has been the Second World War as this house was used as a bank. I took my father there and with a lot of the war brochures and posters, plus the sights and sounds... More

My Wife and I had a lovely drinks and the Cakes in this wonderful Cafe! There are toilets very close to it and also you can have great walks around their Park. There is also a lovely paintings museum above this Cafe.
