I've spent many, many fantastic evenings and lunchtimes in here. It's a real, honest, no frills country pub. If you want posh....don't bother, this is for folk with no pretensions. Probably my favourite pub in the Peak District. Ken and Jen are fantastic hosts.

Called in for a quick drink after a walk in the local area. This pub is a gem, very old fashioned in a good sort of way, decent beers although the number of soft drinks is limited.

Lovely beer, cosy pub, nice fires. Welcomes walkers. Pies in packets provided a much needed scran. Hens came to say hello whilst we enjoyed the beer garden

Went here one evening for a couple of hours with family. Had a lovely time playing board billiards and chatting to the owner. A lovely, traditional pub!

We loved this pub. Ventured out on a very rainy, cold night and found a blazing fire - built up in our honour by the landlord. I doubt if much has changed in this pub since the fifties - but it’s all the better for...More
