Observation tower

Its an observation tower with great views, not a great deal to say about it, but its free and worth the walk up the hill on a nice clear day.

This walk gives easy access to the top of the hills around Buxton. There is a good carpark with toilets and the walk onto the top is on well maintained paths. there is an easy route and a more challenging one.

It was cold but a very sunny day, the walk up was a bit of a climb, made me realise I need to exercise more, but what a view! Fantastic and well worth the walk and it's all free, no entrance fee.

Discovered this great place to have a walk with our dogs. Plenty of parking, loos on site, picnic tables. Great place for blowing the cobwebs away

Took the short walk up to the folly from Grin Low car park, boxing day 2016. Slightly boggy under foot this morning as it had rained last night. Excellent views from the top of the folly tower of Buxton and Mam Tor. Extremely windy today so we didn't stay too long, but will certainly return in better weather. It was... More

At the top end of Buxton near Pooles cavern. Easily accessible although we walked all the way up from the town. Cafe at Pooles cavern nearby for a pit stop. Good way to blow off the cob webs

Not for the old or infirm when it's raining as it seems to be most of the time in Buxton. In reality this is a modest folly on the top of a hill with a decent view, but to get to the top you have to climb a few very small and slippery steps.

This hilltop feature in the western suburb of Buxton provides stunning scenery, after a brisk 30 minute walk. First through a deep wood, then a last climb through a cow pasture, the exercise is good. You're rewarded with views far across town, and into the hilly distance.
