When ever I visit Tintern there is always yet another breath-taking view to find. Such food for the soul. Listening to nature (when off the hidden track away from any traffic) I visit at least once a month and have done so over this last...More

Travelling from Chepstow towards Monmouth through the Wye valley you come upon the charming village of Tintern. The village is right on the banks of the river and you can park, not easily over weekends and public holidays, and admire the beautiful views as well...More

Good place for a walk, a look round the ruined abbey or a drink in the friendly pub. Parking is a bit of a mare on the weekend but in the week is much easier.

So many good walks in this area. Path to Offa's Dyke in easy reach. Visitors made welcome, highly recommended for walking groups and cyclists.

Mystical valley, with a rich variety of trees and colours. The Wye river separates the two countries of Wales and England. There is an array of pubs and eating places along the valley, the best one by far being the one next door to the...More

I have lived in nearby Chepstow for some 45 years. Locally it has always been argued not to buy a house in Tintern in that in the summer it is like a goldfish bowl and the winter being in a valley one never sees sunlight....More

A nice place for a quick stop . . .Make sure you walk up the hill opposite the abbey to look at the derelict church and graveyard. It's actually much more interesting than the abbey. Shops are expensive
