It has taken quite a few years for the Creative Quarter to get going properly but I feel that at last it has turned the corner. We went over for quite a few weekends and weekdays last spring, summer and autumn and each time we were delighted. The atmosphere is really great and this is bringing a lot of (mostly... More

Lovely selection of shops and eateries. Walk down to the sea and along the coast for a while. Brilliant mix of old and new.

What a lovely idea to emulate Brighton's Lanes with creative and quirky independent arty shops, bars and cafes. Unfortunately many of the shops are closed, open only erratically, or exist solely as a front for cheap office space with a pretence at retail. There's at least two goodish art galleries plus one decent cafe / coffee shop. That alone sets... More

Pleasantly surprised with the rejuvenation that's taking place. The shops are a sea change to what the main town consists of. It is indeed a work in progress but it could with further investment become something quite special.

Perfect place to buy everything you didn't know you wanted. We bought some great t-shirts good quality with arty prints on. From Jewellry through guitars and artwork. Wonderful shops in a quaint location

This is a nice little area with lots of independent and arty shops and cafes. It's close to the Harbour and a short walk from the Leas. Nice place for a walk or to browse shops or have a tea/coffee.

There is an amazing play area/walk with stunning gardens. BBQ stands and picnic areas. It runs right along side the beach. A real hidden gem.

I have been visiting folkestone for 6 years now on nostalgia visits. The old high street has changed a lot since then. However still something is missing... it is great to see independant shop owners from artists to bakers and a couple of very nice coffee places. Most places shut on a Monday.

A pleasant surprise as we had little knowledge of this area before arriving. Essentially it is the first area immediately behind the Harbour. So walking up one or two cobble streets saw a variety of shops ( a few closures) but it was quite similar to Brighton. There was one amusing shop that offered the chance to listen to music... More
