Have a wonder around when you're in town

Nothing mind blowing, but a great little area to walk around, nice independent shops, friendly people, old buildings full of character.

Pleasantly surprised with the rejuvenation that's taking place. The shops are a sea change to what the main town consists of. It is indeed a work in progress but it could with further investment become something quite special.

Perfect place to buy everything you didn't know you wanted. We bought some great t-shirts good quality with arty prints on. From Jewellry through guitars and artwork. Wonderful shops in a quaint location

This is a nice little area with lots of independent and arty shops and cafes. It's close to the Harbour and a short walk from the Leas. Nice place for a walk or to browse shops or have a tea/coffee.

There is an amazing play area/walk with stunning gardens. BBQ stands and picnic areas. It runs right along side the beach. A real hidden gem.

There are lots of arty shops here with paintings etc for sale. There are also many restaurants, bars and cafe's popular with the locals as well as holiday makers.

I have been visiting folkestone for 6 years now on nostalgia visits. The old high street has changed a lot since then. However still something is missing... it is great to see independant shop owners from artists to bakers and a couple of very nice coffee places. Most places shut on a Monday.

A pleasant surprise as we had little knowledge of this area before arriving. Essentially it is the first area immediately behind the Harbour. So walking up one or two cobble streets saw a variety of shops ( a few closures) but it was quite similar to Brighton. There was one amusing shop that offered the chance to listen to music... More

Very run down. Most galleries closed or work in progress. Impressive street art comprising junkies chavs and street drinkers. Overall potential not yet realised. Bring back the ferry to Boulogne. That was worth a trip.

Couple (in 50's), glorious sunny day and wandered down the precinct towards the 'creative quarter'. There has clearly been a lot of effort made to regenerate this part of the town. Some very interesting independent shops line the route down towards the harbour area. Odd that at least 2 shops were shut which gave a poor impression. Also went into... More
