Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We walked up The Zig Zag path from the gardens at the bottom. There is a plaque describing the Pulhamite cliffs, these are attractive and also offered shelter as it was raining as we walked up.
We returned the following morning in the sunshine and walked along the top of the cliffs a lovely grassed area in front of big houses and old hotels

This is always a pleasant walk on a nice day with plenty of interest to see and great views. The original buildings and bandstand are still there adding to the character. It is a reminder of how great this town used to be!

A lovely promenade with lovely views across the English Channel and, if you have had enough walking, there's plenty of benches to sit on and watch everybody else walking. If you get lost, there's a funny sign to point you this way and that and there's a clock which has somehow lost two hours. Dogs are allowed but must be kept on a lead.

Have walked here several times, in all weathers.
Its is a great walk, with wonderful scenes. Very well kept. Lots of benches to sit down and watch the world go by.
Path is very broad and caters for people, cyclist, runners, buggies etc.
When you come to the end of the Leas Promenade, near remembrance road... all the poppies on the fence railings makes me remember.
Highly recommend.

We went there for the playground and the beach. We were at first a bit shocked that parking was free. Had to check that, so unusual. We were parked on top of the zig zag path from the boulevard down to the playgrounds and beach. The view was amazing. Very clear water,it was like we were in southern Europe, looking over the Mediterranean Sea. The zig zag path was so beautiful with all kind of plants and caves. The beach had pebble stones, not so nice to walk on. There's a little restaurant on the side for your drinks and snacks. The playground is very nice for children, with a lot of shade and a few resting places for the parents.

Several miles of easy walking, plenty of seating, great views, dogs allowed on lead. A lot of history; bandstand, war memorial and the Leas Lift. Information boards and maps showing your progress at regular intervals. Plenty of clean public loos.

Whenever we go to Folkestone we always make a beeline for Leas Promenade, a 1-mile path/road running along the cliff from the Road of Remembrance westwards towards Hythe. It's totally relaxing with trees lining the cliffside, birds and squirrels galore, and benches to sit and admire a panoramic view of the the Channel and France, rolling lawns and stunning flowerbeds on the the other. We like going before 9 in the morning because then there are just a few people taking an early walk and it's a sociable atmosphere with people greeting and exchanging a few words. But it's also lovely later when everyone comes to walk, play on the grass, jog or cycle - and we've always found something interesting - a group of Ghurkas going for a run, a Scottish band on parade, somebody strumming a guitar, the pigeon man (nearly always there) who sits on a bench with lots of pigeons on and around him. But the Promenade's not just a pretty face - it also has lots to offer history-wise - at the far end two magnificent buildings: the Metropole and Grand; the latter is where 100 years or so ago royalty used to stay and the Leas Promenade was full of the rich, famous and aristocratic and we ordinary working people weren't allow to walk. Further on past the statue of Harvey' (who discovered the circulation of blood) to the Lea Cliff Hall where the 2nd World War troops put blackout curtains at the hall windows and danced the nights away with their lady friends. Further on past the Leas Cliff Lift is the Road of Remembrance, you're walking in the footsteps of the Tommies who marched down to the Harbour during the Great War to embark on the ferries to France - I feel especially close to that because my grandfather (missing believed killed) could quite likely have been one of them. So not just a pleasant walk but one that really reflects English history over the past 100 years or so.

We parked up near the Grand for free and strolled along admiring the view the mile or so to the town. Easy walking-no ups or downs!
