We went to the museum specifically to see the Roman Cavalry exhibition. The overall explanations and material was good and the ceremonial helmets were fantastic and again well explained. A good opportunity to see material loaned from overseas and items in private collections. The Crosby...More

A most interesting exhibition with some amazing artefacts. We were very impressed by the friendly and informative assistant who made a real effort to explain the exhibits and the stories behind them.

Thank you for your lovely review and for coming to visit us all the way from Sweden. I am so pleased you enjoyed our Hadrian's Cavalry exhibition and if you are ever in the area again, please visit us again.

didn't go in as it was £10.00 per head and that appeared a bit expensive as museums are often free. easy to get to placed in city centre across from the castle.

A very good general history display - I particularly enjoyed the Iron-Age, Roman Frontier, Roman Carlisle, Reivers and Viking exhibits, although there is much more to see. I did not venture into the art gallery.
