I don't know much about "the minories" but there was a vintage cocktail night that I attended last minute (because there is a trio called Fox, Wiggle and Sass that I like and they were playing there). It's a great place and we had a...More

After being in the lovely litttle cafe, decided to have a look around the Galleries. One room had some nice paintings, one had about 500 photos, of nothing really interesting, another, modern art stuff... Not our thing so did not really appreciate it

My husband and I visited to see the WW1 exhibition. Personal, poignant and tasteful, arranged to tell a story informative and moving.

Have had lunch here over the years and it’s still great. Pleasant choice of dish of the days, sandwiches, baked potatoes, homemade cakes and teas, coffees and drinks. Garden tables very pleasant and inside equally nice. Friendly service too.

A place to unwind. Beautiful garden to sit in or inside and food is lovely. Glad it still there after many years and still as popular.

Small and often quirky gallery at the top of East Hill as you come into town from that way. Usually a good selection of local artists' work which probably wouldn't get showcased. Easily overlooked, as the 'VAF' gallery is pretty much next door, so needs...More

The Minories is part of the Colchester School of Art and so provides a great space for student work to be exhibited alongside that of established artists. We enjoyed our look around and particularly liked the shop! There is a nice garden at the back...More

This review is about the cafe, not the gallery. It's a lovely place, with a nice garden, however the service I received was poor. It's not cheap and I would expect better. Dirty, uncleaned tables. I had to ask for mine to be wiped and...More

This gallery hosts an interesting range of exhibitions, which are changed regularly. It is a small venue but there are enough galleries to generate interest. In addition to the viewing areas there is a shop which is great for unusual gifts also a café. The...More
