The gardens are an inspiration to anyone who visits them - the art of planting at its best.

These are the best gardens I have ever been to, it felt so peaceful there. I'd been meaning to go for years and have only just got around to it. The gardens are very natural looking and I particularly liked the gravel garden. It's easy to find plants to suit your own garden in the shop as they are all... More

Excellent time spent wandering around beautiful gardens or just sitting with all the peaceful surroundings of nature.. plenty of seats in every part of the garden. I was able to do shopping for family presents in the shop, & enjoyed a cuppa in the pleasant café What was most helpful was,any particular flower you took a fancy to while moving... More

I have been here once before a few years ago and loved it. It really doesn't disappoint. You get soemthing different from it seasonally. I think May is a wonderful month to visit. The staff were amazing and soooo knowledgable - nothing was too much trouble for them to answer. I also managed to get stung by some insect on... More

Enjoyed my second visit to this garden with its many varied planted garden areas. Walking around the lake seeing the ducks. Then going and have a break in the cafe after which buying a few plants from the nursery.

Fascinating now mature transformation of a few acres of a once bramble-choked valley. Splendid and beautiful dry garden; a visual delight with nice café for teas or light lunches. Plant sales area and café wheelchair accessible.

Beth Chatto's is lovely to visit anytime of the year with interesting plants on view. The gardens have grown over the years along with the shop and the restaurant. The dry garden is a must to see as is the lake. It is easy to spend 2/3 hours wandering.

If you're into gardening, this is a must in East Anglia. Since 1960 Beth Chatto has been transforming these (7?) acres from nothing into plant nirvana, with a shop to buy plants and interesting souvenirs - eg Tregothnan tea, and chocolate bars by "chocolate and love". Entry fee is worth it for plant aficionados, but on a sunday restaurant seems... More

The gardens here are really beautiful and clearly take a huge amount of upkeep. This is definitely not a rainy day activity though so choose your day to visit wisely. The nursery here is good, you can find much of what is in the gardens for sale. The cafe is nice, the food is pretty basic but it's all you... More
