Open 7 days a week 7.5 Acres of inspirational Gardens £6.95 admission (under 14's Free). Gravel Garden, extensive Nursery and Tea Room all free to gain access. The Beth Chatto Gardens began in 1960. From an overgrown wasteland with poor gravel soil and boggy hollows, using the principles of ecological planting, it has been transformed into 7 acres of informal garden comprising of the Gravel Garden, Water Garden, Woodland Garden and Scree Garden all harmonising with the surrounding countryside. The gardens are an inspiration to anyone who visits them - the art of planting at its best.

There is also an extensive Nursery with choice of over 2,000 different kinds of mainly herbaceous plants and bulbs.

Light and spacious Tearoom with homemade cakes, light lunches, breakfasts, fresh ground coffee and selection of teas.

First time at Beth Chatto Garden Christmas market. Well organised and looked after by very friendly, helpful staff. A nice selection of good quality, interesting arts and crafts for all the family. Live entertainment and delicious food set in beautiful surroundings, some of which was lit up, all added to the lovely festive atmosphere. Would definitely go again

Beth Chattos gardens are just a perfect get away from the crowds, so serene and beautiful, the plants, trees and scrubs so amazing. However the Christmas Fayre is the very opposite, I was amazed how well organised this years Fayre was, everything was thought of from the childrens corner where books were read , to making Christmas decorations using greenery.... Really nice place to visit. We had a light lunch all homemade and fresh. We found the staff very friendly and helpful . Following lunch we had a walk around the gardens which even in the winter we found really interesting with a nice relaxed tranquil feeling about them. Can't wait to have a look in the summer.

I happened to visit this green hub with a child and a friend. There was plenty of space to learn how to hoola hup and the garden design by the pond was gorgeous under the summer sun. Shame I didn t have time to explore the area further. The café provided much needed refreshments and we shared our scones with... More

My sister & I held this for our parents. We had a sit down high tea in the garden room for 50 guests. We are extremely pleased with the service provided - lots of touching extras made it very special. Thank you to all of the lovely staff - you made our parents day very memorable. Highly recommended.
