Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It’s been a few years since we visited Skegness for the day as the last time we went was just after Covid and the area had suffered badly with closed down businesses everywhere. Visited yesterday (Thursday) on a sunny day and the place was buzzing. There are so many new bars and cafes with a cosmopolitan feel as there are plenty of outdoor seating areas. The pleasure beach has more rides than I have ever seen it have and the beach was spotlessly clean and you could see it had been raked clean with the tractor. Prices seemed very reasonable with eateries doing family deals. For £10 you could buy a large bucket and spade and a ball to keep the kids entertained all day. Fish and chip places are doing different deals to suit every pocket. Well worth a visit.

WOW!! Where do I start..... Firstly Skegness was absolutely fantastic.... Super hot sunny weather, Glorious beach, so much to do. This was our first time in 30yrs visiting and after reading that it was voted the worst seaside in UK we were wondering, do we visit?? Well if you're reading this review, just get yourself there. We have been all over the UK and can honestly say Skegness is one of the best seasides. Plenty of cheap parking, lots of car parks near the promenade, family amusement, beach and theatre. Donkeys, theme park on the seafront, endless rides, boats, lake, water splash, open air pool with sun loungers, gokarts, fish and chips, McDonald's, KFC, 2p arcades galore, aquarium, seal sanctuary, food and ice cream kiosks and endless stretch of golden sandy beach..... Just beautiful!! Plenty to keep the whole family entertained. The town had a good variety of shops, yes some were a little bit tacky, but what you expect from a highstreet at a seaside.
The whole place was clean, tidy, litter free, hardly any dogs in sight, beach cleaned with a tractor, everyone friendly, beautiful pedestrian walkway to beach and Promenade. Nice park and flower displays. Very impressed and would not hesitate visiting again, especially with grandchildren. Do not take any notice of bad reviews, it was just buzzing..... We enjoyed it as much as getting on an aeroplane and going to majorca!!!

Don't believe what people are saying about Skegness if it's negative, as it's not to be believed!
It's fantastic, absolutely brilliant, and so clean too.
There aren't loads of shops, but there are enough to keep you busy, with plenty of bathing to be had.
There are plenty of places to eat, all at very good prices too.
The beach too is amazingly clean, with plenty of places to get your Mr whippy ice cream, hot chocolate and donuts, and unlike some seaside towns, these too are really well priced, and tasty too.
Skegness is a really great little seaside town, and not one to he missed, and I would recommend to anyone taking a break here, to which we will 100% be going back there again.

On a random Sunday morning, we decided to drive to Skegness for a day trip, as neither of us had visited Northern Sea prior to that moment. It was our first time in Skegness and we found it to be a cute, little beach town. Skegness beach is fairly long, and clean, and found it ideal for sandy walks especially with our furry babies. We had a lovely picnic on the beach and spent the afternoon walking around the town. Within just couple of minutes walk, we discovered the Tower Gardens and Skegness boating Lake, which were a lovely way to pass some extra time. As the weather was quite cold, we didn't dare to go for a swim ( so unsure if the water was safe to dive in). Overall, a nice day- trip destination.

Amazing beach and lots of food outlets to buy everything you need for a day at the beach. Toilets charge 40p entry and could be a lot cleaner when you have to pay to go in them.
The big downside is the drunks and druggies that are around the town from about 17.00ish making you feel uncomfortable especially with children.

Decided to go for a walk with my dog down Skegness sea front, well what a disappointment. Lots of litter, homeless people and refugees living in the hotels. What a letdown.
The council have obviously tried to spend money but unfortunately it didn't feel like a safe environment as a woman on her own
Would definitely not recommend to anyone.
Gibraltar Point is beautiful and peaceful and you feel safe go there instead

We arrived on the beach to large amounts of open space which was great even considering how busy it was. Unfortunately on the walk down the beach we passed a lot of trash, dirty Nappies and baby wipes strewn about the place in one area and broken glass. We didn't stay for too long and it probably speaks volumes that the highlight for us was watching the RNLI come down the beach and launch directly from the trailer into ocean. It is a shame that the bit we enjoyed the most was at the expense of someone being in a state of emergency but it was excellent to see the crews in flawless action.

On a blustery but sunny November morning the beach promenade provides a lovely walk. The information about the offshore wind farms was interesting and the views of the North Sea were stunning. The shelters and benches have obviously been replaced and this adds to the vista. The RNLI station is interesting and the shop had very reasonably priced Christmas decorations

A beautiful beach to visit.
About 15 mins walk from Skegness train station, or you can catch a bus at the train station, which drops you off right at the path that leads to the beach.
There are lots of places by the entrance to the beach to get warm/cold drinks and snacks etc so it's a very easy and lovely day out.

We were pleasantly surprised to find the beach to be clean and not overly crowded despite all the pleasant weather. Everyone seemed to social distance well and there was plenty of room to enjoy the sun and sea.
There was a little litter but the beach had been swept fairly clean. The tide was in when we arrived but even at low tide you can wade out for quite a while making the beach safe for young children.
We stayed near the pier which gave us access to the local amenities and close to our hotel. There is a nearby cafe, shop, ice cream van etc.
You will get the idiots, those who pollute the air smoking cannabis or those walking their beefy dogs on the beach despite a ban and potential fine if they do. But the majority behaved well.

Hi
I didn't see one at Skegness when we were there sorry
Written 2 August 2018
Not sure if it’s allowed but have seen plenty of people doing it while we have been there. As long as you tidy up after yourself and keep it safe there shouldn’t be a issue.
