Enjoyable picnic in the grounds of Tolethorpe, followed by a spectacular afternoon of fun at the matinee. Not to be missed. Will go again and again.

Wonderful venue for open air theatre and super grounds for pre performance picnic. Stamford Shakespeare Company put on three plays every summer, all very professional although the company are all amateurs.

We have been going to this theatre now for several years and have enjoyed every performance to date, if the evening is warm and fine then a picnic is a bonus.

Have a picnic in the grounds then watch a superb production in a stunning location. Will definitely be going back for future productions.

An internet search uncovered that seats were available for The School for Scandal and that we could book a meal in Tolethorpe Hall before the play. The meal was exceptional. Well prepared, carefully served and and good value. A polished performance that put our hotel...More

Excellent venue for picnic and show as long as it's dry, the theatre seating area is covered with the stage being outside, the only problem was the difficulty in hearing the actors (we left in the interval).
