Worth a visit

Interesting place a certain to look round, loved all the 70's pieces they'd got for sale. Reminded me of childhood visits to my aunt's. Fascinating to watch potter in action. So... read more

I used to visit Poole Pottery as a child so was really looking forward to going back. Unfortunately it was quite disappointing. The main shopping area felt more like a generic garden centre. The pottery at the back seemed very expensive even for the seconds. There is an upstairs area which sells clothes which again felt extremely dated, The pottery... More

I always go into Poole Pottery when I am on the Quay. You can go round the shop which sells various items, as well as pottery there are gifts, kitchen items, DVD's, books, clothes etc. You can also walk round the pottery section where you can watch the pots etc being painted by the artists. There is also a section... More

Parking is advisable in the nearby multi-story car park as you won't be able to park on the quayside unless you are disabled. The shop is full of wonderful different arts and crafts from all over the country. When you walk into the Poole Pottery part of the building your eyes are agog with the beautiful pots of many different... More

The overall feel is that of a garden centre gift type of shop. A little vintage Poole pottery in display cabinets but mostly none related ceramics.

On holiday in the New Forest, so ventured into Poole and visited the Poole Pottery, not having been there for a number of years. Lots of different things to purchase but disappointed with the amount of pottery, made on site, on offer in the shop. Would love to know what percentage of goods sold are actual pices made in the... Called in at pottery in my opinion a cross between going to a department store and an outlet. Prices about same as other places (as even the discounted stuff was dear) much of stock looks like it has done the rounds and on its last hope. Other good names just a bit mixed -why not just go to your local... More

A great place to wander around and check out the art work. There is an amazing display of pottery all made on site ,upstairs if you have children you can paint a pot or a animal figure wandering around is a great way to pass the time. On the 1st floor there's a tea room to recharge your batteries and... More

A wet Monday in January meant there were few visitors to the pottery. Whilst they do have a few kilns here, these are used for special commissions that are produced on site. However the bulk of the products are manufactured in Stoke-on-Trent - but at least that is still the UK! As well as Poole items, the shops sells a... More
