I was here recently and it was a little downbeat. However, a visit in the summer when bands are regaling the visitors with pomp, ceremony and rousing music from the bandstand, is unique. Well worth a visit.

Well worth a visit, not suitable for people with mobility issues due to the steps down to the fort and up to the gallery. Free entry, a gem on Eastbourne's sea front.

This fortress is a jewel on the sea.. not many have survived after the war but his is a fantastic statement still surviving. Pity not much money are invested in it and not many tourists are around as well.

Really shows what life must have been like in Napoleonic times and onwards. Pretty basic!! Staff very freindly and informative. Not expensive and well worth the visit.

Hi Eleanor, sorry we missed your question. Dogs are welcome in the parade ground and up on the gun platform but not inside the building itself
